A Challenge To All Breeders!
I'd like to pose a challenge to all breeders; we all are very aware of how many unwanted dogs there are in this world and how often we see our own breed of choice in our own rescues, we advocate our breed rescues and speak highly of them but, I think it's about time breeders start putting their money where their mouth is and start helping our rescues.

My challenge to each and every breeder out there - Take $25.00 from the purchase amount of every puppy you place and give it to your breeds rescue. Even if you breed one litter every year and your average litter is six, that's $150.00 that your breed's rescue didn't have before. Take an average of just 20 breeders doing this and it's $3000.00 going to your breed's rescue per year! Not only are you helping your rescue and the dogs in it but it's also a tax write-off for you so what do you really have to lose?

Crossfire that a great/ no Excellent Idea- very, very helpful and a great way to show support. I my self am not a breeder but I would 100% do that If I was, no questions asked. Great idea

The amount given can be changed to whatever amount a national club wanted to use but when my husband and I were talking about it $25.00 seemed to be an amount that no matter what placement fee was involved depending on the breed would be widely accepted.

This is not however an original idea of ours I've found out, I went to a DDB site strictly for those who are members of the DDBS that I recently joined and found that they are already doing this! Matter of fact their using the $25.00 amount as well! I'm not sure who originally came up with the idea there but when and if I find out they should get the credit for it not me!

Let me do some checking on who originally had this idea there so they can be given the proper credit and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

Hey we'll be going to some shows this spring, so maybe we could talk to some breeders(and breed club booths if any) and spread the word- I'm sure they'll find it an excellent idea as well.........
