"Dogs displaced due to recent hurricanes in Florida landed in Denver Friday morning.

Fifteen of the canines ended up at the Colorado Humane Society in Colorado Springs, another 47 dogs were taken to the Englewood location.

The dogs which are now ready for adoption are more than a year old, and all have their health certificates. "It's very emotional the people working here. I noticed tears in some eyes because we're gonna try very hard to get homes for them," said Animal Protection Officer Susan Maxon."

The Humane Society will have their hands full for quite some time as dogs will continue arriving for the next several months."
