Rock County Humane Society in Janesville, WI.
We have an urgent situation and we NEED HELP. We have just seized
approximately 41 huskies from a bad situation. We do not have space
for this many dogs. We need help ASAP to house these dogs. They have
been signed over to us. Please mobilize your forces and contacts and
help us with this serious situation. Shelter phone number is 608-752-
5622 and it is answered between 8am and 5pm. I have two cell phones
you may use tonight (and I hope you will) of 608-728-2292 and 608-
792-2290. ) The dogs are dirty, some are thin, but I'm told they are
handleable. We are still bringing them in so I don't have a lot of
into. It seems they have been grouped so most get along with others.
We desparately need your help.

Day two of our saga. We have seized a total of 44 dogs, 41 have been
signed over to us. The dogs are thin, very dirty, some dirtier than
you can imagine. I have watched the staff handling these dogs,
shearing them, washing them and the dogs have been remarkably
patient. We have twelve dogs that will need shearing--they have
balls of er, poop, hanging from--probably a lifetime of dirt. They
are comfortable around people. Some have not been on leash and seem
unfamiliar with being indoors, some conversely have not been
outside. They were kept in big groups and we have housed them
successfully two and three to a kennel. We were full of dogs before
these dogs came in. We have about 76 kennels here so obviously 44
dogs is a great burden on the staff and volunteers. We have
our "regular" population of dogs and a very full population of cats
to care for as well. We have sent 12 dogs to a rescue already, have
a rescue who will take seven but they need transport. We are working
on this.
Any and all help is appreciated.
