June's Breed: Basset Hound

The rule is, that when posting a dog that is in need of a home, it must have at least a little of the featured breed in it.

Jax is a one year old who was rescued from the pound the first of the year. He was adopted into a home and returned when he proved to be too playful for the older pets in the household. Jax is all personality. He loves to play and run around. He is great with kids and other pets. Jax loves to be with people, is very affectionate and really loves to give kisses. He is not a drooler. Jax is looking for an active family who wants to make him an active part of it. He requires lots of play time and interaction. Jax would be most happy with a companion dog who loves to play also.

Notes: Thyme is a female mixed breed pup, born 11/2004. She has not been very well socialized and is initially quite cautious around new people. Thyme is very attached to her mother, Rosemary, and seems confused on how to act if Rosemary is not around to show her the way. Thyme is likely to be a medium-sized dog when fully grown. She is looking for a family with lots of love in their hearts and patience to teach her not to be afraid.

Notes: EDDA MAE recently lost her beloved owner and found herself in the Kenai Animal Control. Luckily she had a guardian...Gwen who does Sheltie rescue (what a switch). Gwen diligently rallied for this senior and adorable Bassett Hound. With arms opened wide with love, our Bassett foster parents, Sue and Dean, did not hesitate to say "yes, we will foster". Edda Mae is very sweet and gets along well with other dogs, is energetic, approximately nine years old, adjusts well and has a great temperament. She would love a home that will allow her her senior years to be full happiness...isn't that what she deserves?
