my husband and i are in seattle as most of you know and we decided tonight after twenty four dogs were brought here that we are going to be a foster home for as many dogs as we can... i mean i have two so i think max would be three more possibly 4. but i wanted everyone to know that we are going to become foster homes and there are many more dogs coming this week and next to seattle and they are at http://www.pasadosafehaven.org/ they are being checked out at Redmond Animal Clinic in Redmond WA for free and then hopefully all will have foster homes soon... hugs if you live up email me and ill get you in contact with someone soon. hugs

ROFL, the foster home bug must be catchy. I've been working with a rescue in my area for the past month and I'm waiting to see if I qualify. I too, like you Kaz, was waiting for the outcome of the meeting before doing a full announcement. I was supposed to have my home visit with the rescue agency last week but it was postponed due to an emergency that the rescue lady couldn’t put off. Can’t wait to hear the outcome of both of your situation. This is great!

Thats awsome that you guys can foster! I have been sending donations to help with vet and food costs every payday for Katrina and Rita animal victims. I am not in a position to foster a dog right now but I hope my donations will help too.

We just checked out the web site for Safe Haven and ordered two of those dog and cat sculptures. I got the naughty dog one and the crazy cat one. They are so cute and now I want one of each, I told hubby I want to collect all 4 eventually!

cool im excited... woohoo... i am trying to get in contact with this safe haven that is in LA they need people to go down for a week and help... i wish i could go... i have a confession... im on probation they wont let me do **** so im stuck here but im gonna do the foster home to help...

Im looking at fostering small dogs, especially boston terriers, although if they have a corso, Ill be all over that!

I received an email that was forward to the rescue I want to work for. It was from a member of PCA (Poodle Club of America). They are in desperate need of foster/adoptive homes for poodles of all sizes that are now homeless because of the devastation of Katrina and Rita. I'm looking into fostering one. If anyone else is interested in adopting one of these great breed send me a PM and I'll give you the email address for more info.

i want to foster any dog that needs a home really i love big dogs becauase of prince and tasneem they are alittle rambuncious so i have to be careful with that little dog thing... giny by all means i did pm you but plz id love to be a standard poodle home.. because my babies are big and rough i dont want a little one getting hurt

but i would take either

because i love all dogs.... giny let me know

That's great that you can take in evacuees! Like Barrett, I'm not in a position to be able to do that. I am on a list of trainers and behavior consultants who have made themselves available for free telephone consults for rescue families all over the US. There will be a lot of PTSS in addition to normal dog stuff and rescue owners who are not sure how to deal with some of it.

right... i completely understand that... and i think that you are doing a great deal more than i am by being there for those who need this help.. because some dont know how to deal with it... i feel my house is large enough to house at least three or more dogs and two more cats and some reptiles and birds
