Talking Older dog, can he be a weight hauler?

I really wanted to "train" Ivan to pull weight, even know hes about 2. Seems like he could od it with alot of training and patince .
This was my plan, get the pull harnes and call his name or pull, while putting more and more weight on the board. Even most of my plans fail I think this one will work, lol! Is that a good way to train him....and are there any weight hauling wed sites?

he needs a thorough checkup by a vet first, preferably with x-rays. you don't want to pull him on anything heavy if he's dysplastic in his hips, elbows, or shoulders (all of which are somewhat common in pits) because that excess wear and tear on already imperfect joints could cause him more problems later in life.

a kind of goofy website but good is this one.

I agree, a vet checkup first would be in order.

Also, you would want his behavior completely under control -- especially any dog-aggressive tendencies -- before you brought him to a competitive environment full of other dogs.

yes we did, he has no hip or leg problems. Heathy.
But i was wondering how to get him to pull, when he is tried he just wont pull until a strick call. Or when hes hyper he just pulls and pulls until hes bored. Is this something i can fix?

try training him. that page i linked you to has basic instructions. you can also use google. it's all a training issue, like everything else.
