Any type of PM like this needs to be reported to staff. This is considered spamming.

ummm OK, I understand not posting a link to this spammers website, but this is twice I posted a link and got a reprimand. Why? and where do I post links to other sites at?

It depends on what type of link it was. Here is the excerpt from our forum rules which pertains to the website links.

9. Free advertising is not permitted on these forums, NO EXCEPTIONS! Anything the GP staff deems as advertising will be promptly deleted. A user may not advertise through a post on the message board or through private messaging. If caught doing so, you may be banned immediately! Our advertisers pay for the right to sell their products and services here. Contact webmaster@GlobalPaw.Com for more information. The posting of links to other forums within general posts is not allowed.

You may not DIRECTLY be advertising a product, but it may be passed on as doing so. You may discuss the product, however the link is not permitted, but some are okay.

The staff may edit posts/threads for any reason at all. This is also found in our forum rules, found HERE.

Links to websites containing information on training, health, etc are welcomed, but if the staff feels the link should not be left, then it will be removed.

If you PM me the other link that was removed, I'd be willing to tell you why it was removed.

It's just to keep our forums clean, and free of "spammers". Not that you are one, but if someone sees you indirectly advertising a product, it gives some the incentive of coming on here to do so with their own.

OK thanks and no matter about the link now I just posted it during conversation. Anyway LOL no I am not a spammer or affiliated with any business's on the internet or in the real world. Thanks for taking the time to explain it to me.

No problem. We knew you weren't a spammer. Trust me, even well known members here have had links moderated out of their posts Staff members have had it done from time to time too. So we definetly make sure we are equal as far as that goes.

Like I said, though, if you have something like that in the future. PM a staff member. If you don't know how to start a PM, I will be more than happy to help you with that!

Alrighty

An easy way to find out who is a staff member --

Go to the bottom of the homepage. Just above the "Who's Online" section is a link that says "View Dog Forum Leaders". Click on that, and it will give you a list of members who are staff members. Admins are the ones who are in charge of the forum, mods edit posts-ban members-etc., and DFG's handle talking with the members privately via PM.
