Hmmm, I'm not sure what has changed since this thread was posted, but I too now am having problems with the page jamming, which has never happened to me before. And yup, I agree, it's extremely annoying!! For some reason I don't get all of the main page either. There's about an inch missing from the right hand side, which chops off part of the contest winning pic, and where it usually says "Woof! Welcome britishbandit" for me, it now says "Woof! Welcome britishband...." But there is a side scroll bar now at the bottom of the page, so to see it all I have to scroll side to side. It only happens on the main page though, not on pages I link to from it. I noticed this problem soon after/as the GP photobucket link was added.
I am using firefox too, and have windows xp.

Ahrggg -- What is going on.

OK. I fixed the scrolling issue. That was a completely unrelated issue. Thanks for pointing that out.

Onto the forum lag. Alright, I made some changes can anyone tell me if it has improved somewhat or not at all. I have tested this on Windows XP - IE7 and Firefox, as well as OSX - Safari and Firefox.

I think I see considerable improvement, but I never really experienced the lag, so if I can get an update I would really appreciate it.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

I'm still having problems with the jamming and the scrolling.

I experienced the scrolling problem yesterday and made an adjustment, since then I have not experienced it, but I will test it some more.

As far as the jamming, I don't know what to say. All my pages load really fast, like two seconds on both Windows and OSX. I will have to open a trouble ticket on Monday as well as a server optimization request.

The forum may need to be turned off for a little bit on Monday to do a full diagnostic.

Thanks for letting me know.

I've come on a few times this morning, and it doesn't happen every time I log on for some reason. This time I don't have the scrolling problem, and the pages are loading fine too. Last time I came on, I had both happening.

I'm going to clean up my computer too, I haven't done that in a while, and that probably isn't helping any.

Unfortunately for now until I can get the problem resolved the only fix I can recommend is upgrading your browser to Microsoft's latest browser "Internet Explorer 7". I realize that upgrading to IE7 is not an ideal solution, and that there is a problem, but if IE7 will remedy the problem, then it will get you to view the pages faster than you could with IE6. There may still be a lag but it will render the pages faster.

BTW: IE7 is a hands down a better browser than IE6 is, and this is not an opinion but well documented all over the Internet. I would recommend upgrading even if there wasn't a problem with our forum.

I appreciate the details which will help me determine what is causing this lag. I hope you take my advise on upgrading.
Thanks Doodle Dog for your kind words. It's great to know my info was appreciated so much! Yes, I will consider upgrading to Internet Explorer 7 if it is appropriate - can anyone else tell me how they get on with IE 7?
