Additional info for profile (a few questions/comments)

First off, I just wanted to say that I really like the new questions we can fill out for our profile. I do have a few questions and comments though...

It seems we can only fill out the additional dog information for one dog. Is there (or will there be) an option to add info for multiple dogs?

I also noticed that on my profile, under the heading "Dog #1 Additional Information", there's a spelling mistake in this sentance:

Here's your change to tell us more about your dog.
I'm pretty sure that should say chance!

I did not expect anyone to really notice, silly me! I'll add more dogs and more fields soon. It's very time consuming but I hope to have the profile pages done by this Friday.

Yeah, I was kind of bummed about only being able to enter one dog. I know most people only have 1-3 dogs. (Any chance there will be enough for 12? I know there are 2 people here who have 12 dogs (and one who doesn't frequent very often who has 14).

I will NOT put my actual name in my profile, NOR will I tell how many dogs I have, these things are NO ONE's BUSINESS.

Please let me know if I need to dump my membership to this forum, I refuse to put my personal information out there for people to sift through.

I would recommended removing the "real name" thing and having the list of dogs come up only for the numbers dog you have. A lot of people do not like posting their real name online for privacy reasons. I tend to avoid doing so myself.

If you don't like putting your real name, you can put a "call name" in it's place, I see you already did, that's fine. Some member's user names are very complicated, if we use our names or call names, it's much easier.

The reason behind the "required" information such as "real name", # of dogs and country is to weed out trouble makers and discourage people from acting irresponsibly on the forum. Sorry you thought it was a violation of your privacy.

As for the rest of the information, it's up to you. If you want to fill it out, great, if not, no biggy.

I thought it was asking for my real name. You might want to change the field to nick name, call name or something else.

Regardless, I should not be required to put any name or other identifying information in myu profile on any bulletin board. It is invasive and inappropriate to require it.

I get one more pop up box on this site to put in REQUIRED INFO and I am gone, I'm sure along with many others.

Ridiculous.

I honestly don't see why "many other" people would leave because of it. You don't have to put any real information.

No one can force you to put your real name... you can easily get away with putting "ABCD" as your name, or "Anonymous". I think it's a miniscule thing to leave a forum over, especially when there are ways of avoiding having to give out your personal information.

Would it be possible to not show all those 'additional dog info' entries? Like Punky said earlier, the majority of us have one to three dogs. It's a bit of a clutter with all those entries on our profile, that will most likely never be filled out. It would be great if it showed only the entries that you filled out info for. I hope I'm not being a pest!

No one is being a pest, thank you all for giving me feedback, good or bad.

About the multiple dog profiles, I tried finding a better way but I cannot find a solution. For now it will be a bit cluttered until we iron out what we really want, then I'll hire someone to make it more compact and pretty. It may take a couple weeks or so.
