Dumbest dog comments you've heard?

Comments about Ace
"When he kills you I wont feel bad"
-"HEY WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITH THAT DOG? THATS A Ni**** DOG!"
- "IS THAT A VICK DOG?!"
- "Ahhhhh its a vick dog"

- -from across the pet store- "CAN YOU HOLD YOUR DOG"
"me?" "yes you with the god **** pit bull" "uhhh hes on a leash, hes nice" "yea thats what they all say until they kill you"

- "Is that a colby pit bull?"...
"no" ..
"he got babies?"
"no hes neutered"
"well if you change yo mind holla"
so incase I UN NEUTER my dog?

- "you got puppies fo sale?" "no" "you can make lotsa monies from breedin them blue pits"

- "IIIIII want a pit bull, I had one once but I gave it away"
"oh"
"is they red nosed?"
"no he's a mix, rescued"
"he got peds? Can I have one?"

-"My brother has a pit bull, he hangs it from a tree and punches it, says itll make em tougher...that true?"

- "Want puppies? I breed blue nose pits only $2000, they good protection dogs"

-"Pit bulls WILL snap one day because due to poor breeding their brains will outgrow their skull at a certain point. When the pressure gets to be too much...WATCH OUT!"

-I brought Ace to a park with Amber and someone says "THAT'S SO IRRESPONSIBLE! that's like letting a lion play with kids"

Someone also once told me that if you spit in their food it establishes a bond cause they can smell you and that way they know your the one that feeds them

"You have puppies?" "No, he's fixed." "You sure? I want one, and I'm pretty sure he's from a dogfighting line." (BYE!)

" you need to cut that boys ears! Make him look tough, because he isn't. MY rednose won't let anyone get close to me without biting, yours is a puss."

Comments about Boo

-"What type of dog is that?"
"I don't know i think she's a chow mix"
"ohh them dogs mean"

`"Hey! it that a german shepherd?"
"no"
"then what is it?"
" a mutt"
"No i don't think so, i think that's a german shepherd"
( so why did you ask)

I've never gotten a rude comment about Scruffy unless someone said she's ugly :/
I don't think my scruffadoodle is ugly.

I can understand your frustrations with bully breed stereotypes. I don't have to put up with it since I don't own one, but it certainly bugs me how the media can brainwash people.

Since I am into dog behavior and dog training, I can't stand it when people say stupid, humanizing things regarding dog behavior. When it's someone that I need to be nice to, I bite my tongue and politely nod my head. Some of the ridiculous things I've heard people say -

"He knows what breed he is. When people ask the owner, "What a great dog, what breed is he?" and the owner responds, "He's a rottweiler." that's how the dog learns what breed he is."

"When I say, "Look, it's Miko, he's coming!", Buddy will look up. He knows that Miko is coming."

"I can just see it in her eyes. She gets so jealous all of the time!"

"Billy KNOWS when he wasn't easy and he'll go back and do it again."

"Dylan wouldn't stand for that."

"Every once in a while I will tell Buddy, "It's okay, you're alright." just to let him know that things are going to be okay."

When I was planning on getting my Doberman, someone in my family was worried about my getting the breed and said, "What if he bites someone?"

I could tell lots of dumb things people have said.

Yeah, the competition is tough. I get sick of ''Look at the paws, he's going to be huge.'' Well most of the dog guide puppies are bred on the small size, able to do the job, but fit on a bus or airplane much better. Out of 20 puppies, the largest ones have been about 70 pounds, and some below 50 as a lean one year old. At 4 months, Raven, black Lab, is about 30 pounds. No way will she be ''huge''.

People have said the following about my Chihuahua (after I tell them what breed & age she is, which is 9 1/2 years old):

"Will she get any bigger?"
"Is she a regular Chihuahua or a teacup Chihuahua?"
"My dog would eat/kill/squash your dog"
"That's not a dog! That's a rat!"
"All Chihuahuas are nasty towards kids"
"Your Chihuahua is big for the breed. They're supposed to be much smaller" (Ugh this one annoys me! She is the right size.)

No one really says anything about Harley, but lots of people ask me if he's a puppy, which he is obviously not, with such a grey face like his!

There is no such thing as a "teacup" Chihuahua (or yorkie, which is why flyndog listed that as a dumb comment).
And they're only "awful yappy things" if the owner doesn't socialise and train them as they should.

With my Jesse (Chihuahua) I would get the usual "How big will she be when she grows up?"...he was a HE, so that was doubly annoying. And then I'd get the just plain rude comments like "Ewww...look at that ugly thing." (he wasn't ugly, so this always confused me) and "I hate those rats." (well good...they hate you too)

lol oh the good old annoying people who comment on dogs........

My biggest one is - "That old boy has got some spunk in him!" As they refer to my 3 year old greyhound/husky......all because he has white markings around his nose and mouth.

And for my litle Shih-Tzu people really think little dogs should be treated more like babies - "You let him greet big dogs? What if they eat him?" He's a dog, not a walking hamburger. or "You take your little dog on the trails out here? I didn't think little dogs could go for hikes in the woods!" The impossible is now possible with my non-babied little 9lbs dog! Apparently it blows people's minds??

And with my Akita it's constantly "Is that a German Shepherd?" "Wow thats a big German Shepherd." "How did you get a German Shepherd with this type of coloring and mask?" lol, I just don't get it........he looks nothing like a german shepherd.

I can't count the number of times I've been told "It won't be long until your dog is fat, all goldies get fat!" really annoying as he's a very normal, healthy dog.
Before I lost my cocker spaniel last year, I used to get people saying "
I bet he (Charlie) bullies the little one", when they got on well, no bullying at all, although I sometimes think poor Charlie gets bullied by the cat

Yesterday, some lady came over to hang out (get drunk) with my uncle... She asked me if I would "cage our dogs" because she was terrified of them. I handed her a dog biscuit and told her to make friends. She told me, "I... I can't. Dogs hate me. All dogs hate me. Cage them, please." I told her to get over it or leave. So she left. lol

A few years ago when I first got Mazie, I took her over to a friend's apartment... where there's a lot of other dogs in the area... so I figured it was fine. The apartment manager drove up and told me I couldn't have her there because dogs were, "vicious and destructive" despite me having her on a leash...

Since we are allowed to take our puppies in public places, we occasionally run into people that are terrified of them. Often managers claim the law forbids them. Not so, it is a gray area. .
