Sporting: Labrador Retriever, Weimeraner
Herding: German Shepherd Dog Terrier: Fox Terrier (smooth or wire coated) Also think those Border Terriers are awfully cute. Well, there are lots of cute Terriers. Yorkies are cute too. Toy: Chihuahua, Toy Poodle, Miniature Pinscher, Pomeranian Non Sporting: Poodle, especially Standard, but like all sizes. Working: Doberman Pinscher is my all time favorite. (beauty, extreme loyalty and brains) I also like certain aspects of Great Danes, Newfoundlands, Siberian Huskeys and Malamutes, but wouldn't want one of those for various reasons, but I admire them a lot. Hounds: If a Rhodesian Ridgeback is a hound, then I like them....beautiful and tough. I like Bloodhounds, Black and Tan Coonhounds....all those guys, Red bone hound. Again.....wouldn't want to own one but think they're beautiful and have nice, sweet dispositions. I'm just not a hound person. I'm too into the pack drive/obedience, work with me thing. And they would probably tell me, "Let me go. I can do it myself!" Right? LOL. Oh yes....those Fox hounds and Harriers are beautiful and lovely. And Borzois (sp?) are just plain cool. Well, you can see I have a hard time. There are so many neat breeds, with all kinds of purposes and personalities. So, although I might like the looks of one or the disposition and other traits, it may not be the all around dog for me. That's what people getting their first purebred dog should look at. I think a lot of people choose a dog based on one or two traits they think they'd like or an idea that they like a breed, but come to find out, there's a whole slew of things they don't like about them and they end up disasters. |

I'd love to have a standard poodle, a ridgeback or greyhound, but it wont happen. It gets too difficult to take care of the big guy the older you get, and we travel around too much too.

I love too many breeds, I can't pick just one!
Sporting: Weim, Vizsla, all three Setters and of course Goldens and Labradors. I think Pointers are beautiful too. Non-Sporting: Chow Chow, Standard Poodle, Dalmatian Hound: Whippet!! I admire -all- the sighthounds and scenthounds but out of the group I believe the Whippet is the only one I would own. Toy: Papillon, Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Lhasa Apso (Only Lhasas with correct type, not the ones that look like Shih Tzus.) Terrier - JRTs, Staffy Bulls, Smooth/Wire Fox Terriers Herding: Border Collie. Period. This is my favorite group and I like all herders but nothing stacks up to the BC.Working: Doberman Pinscher! I have completely fallen for the breed, I never thought that a dog could suit my personality and lifestyle as well as the Border Collie, while still being so different from them.. But Dobes do! Definitely my favorite out of the working group. |
