happy gotcha day mushroom!!
yesterday was luce's day, and today is shroomdog's.

it was a year ago i went and picked him up and brought him home. it was so nerve-wracking integrating him into the household. there were some bumps, some snapping, some biting, and a lot of tears on my part, but in the year that's gone by we have all grown to fit each other perfectly.

he's my mushysquishy, my lapdog, my couch potato who would rather nap than run. he's my superdestructo dog with jaws of steel ready to tear a black kong to bits. he's my calm boy, my sweet boy, my serious boy, my soft and gentle boy. he's his grandma's best boy.

it was just as hard learning to train and work with him as it was luce- he's so bullheaded but at the same time, he's so soft that mommy's angry eyes make him roll on his back and pee. he's dopey and kind of slow, but he's so willing and eager to please.

he has brought so many new dimensions to my life. i love this pair of dogs for all their contrasts and all their differences. i love my shroom dog for all that he is and i've learned to accept him and not try to wish him into a dog he is not.

so cheers, shroom dog. one year and counting.
