school
I start college back up today.
I went right out of highschool to a 4 year school in another city 2 hours away, 2 year into it I was still super confused as to where my life was going so I decided to move back to my home town, work a little and decide what I want to do with my life. I took a semester off from college and I moved in with my fiance who dealt great with me living 2 hours away for a few years but is deff happy im back. I had a hard time adjusting to not going to school. Finally I realized that it was not a good idea for me. Some people do great taking time off from school, I didnt, I regret it and wish I never did it. I have enough credits that I still will be on time to graduate but it still wasnt the right thing for me to do. Well Im back, I start today! Im a Sociology major (study of people in groupes or cultures) Im suposed to have class at noon today butmy new school doesnt start classes till 4pm the first day- so ill still have two classes this evening. Monday: 12-12:50- Soc of Edu 5-6:15- Contemporary Moral problems. 6:30-9:30- Anthro Theory Tuesday 2-3:15- Soc of Deviance Wednesday 12-12:50- Soc of Edu 5-6:15- Contemporary Moral problems. Thursday- same as tuesday Friday 12-12:50- Soc of Edu Im excited, I cant wait to go back. And my boss is great about keeping my work in the morning. 6am-11 |

Congratulations, fireworks! It's so difficult to go back after being off for any time at all. You are an incredible person to decide to do so. Good luck with your classes this semester!
I just graduated in December with a degree in Psych. I love your schedule. Those classes are great. I'd love to hear about what you'll learning and all that interesting stuff. Keep me up to date, so to speak! ![]() |

Your probably one of the few people that would really understand my classes. Psych and Soc arnt too different, they are but not as much as most others (i.e.- Eng) and Soc would be. Soc has a very small number of Majors in it, its kinda sad to me...
Belated Congrats on graduating. Ill deff keep you updated.... I love Soc so theyll be fun to me. I had a prof. at my old school (who had no attendace policy) ask me why I bother going to classes, cuz id ace every test and in his oppinion write amazing Soc perspective papers. He basicly said if I came for tests Id be fine, but I loved the class, he was such a interesting little guy and I loved his excitement when he taught. |

First day wasnt bad....I think my only "hard" class will be Anthro Theory.... while im not taking easy classes per-say..I think the others are up my alley that theyll come to me easy....where as I did good in my other anthro classes they were more specialized rather (both AIDS and Culture classes) then general Anthro...but ill do fine...
luckly though I dont usually work Mondays, cuz Monday Im in class till 9:30 and Id die after starting work at 6am then going to class all day.. |

Emily...I don't dig as deep as I'm sure you do in the college classes...but I love to study sociology...changes in moral theory, effect of mass media on culture...its really amazing.
For my senior year in high school, my schedule is filled with classes like sociology, psych, hum. anatomy...etc...I love to study all of that...its so interesting. |

best advice ever would be to stay undecided and take a variety of classes untill you really truely know what you want to do then decide....that was the biggest reason I took a semester off cuz I had no concret ideas.

yea Ive been back a bit. I didnt like the school I initially went back to so I left that after a semester, then came to a local private school. Which I LOVE. They are letting me go part time right now, I just bought a house and time is limited. Summer break just started last week though.
