Vent about another forum

Arg! I am very upset and angry right now. I was on another forum, when this other woman starts a gigantic fight with another member that goes on for several pages. She was calling names, cussing, and threatening others. She even threatened another member with the words "I'm going to kick your 300 lb toothless wife in the head."(Though it certainly wasn't typed in proper english!) She even goes on to admit being drunk. After I had just about enough of all of that, I PMd the head mod and expressed my concerns politely. I had thought that he had taken care of things, when I get a very rude PM from this other member and saw that she was online. I am outraged! How could this person NOT be punished after her actions!?

Unfortunately, in her PM to me, she hinted at the fact that she is friends with the mod..

Still furious, I sent him another email. And because I feel that he still wont' take action, I have contacted the other "lesser ranked" mods. I sure hope someone doesn't let this go by without punishment!

The PM I sent:

Quote:
I am sorry to bother you , but I cannot let this problem go by unnoticed.

A few days ago another member on this forum behaved horribly. She had outrageous language, called names, and even *threatened* another member. I believe that this person's behavior was outragious and NOT appropriate for a public forum AT ALL. I remember that I had contacted ****(name of mod), and he did close the thread, for which I am thankful. But, I must say that I am angered that this person was not punished, as she is back on the forum today. I am not here to tell you how to do your job, but I must express my concerns.

So far I have enjoyed this forum, but if that kind of behavior is allowed, I may have to reconsider my membership here. I, nor any one else here at this forum, deserves this other member's abuse.

Thankyou for your time.

-a concerned member of ***(name of forum)

I won't comment on the policies of other forums, but rest assured that type of behavior is not tolerated at GlobalPaw.

I can understand your frustration and honestly, I'm so thankful that our members here treat one another with respect.

I won't comment on what another forum does but want to assure you that behavior like what you've described will never be something tolerated here.

Edited to add - I was still posting when you posted Doozy. LOL I could have just shortened this all up to "amen!"

That's what sets GP apart from the rest. A lot of forums, while not that bad, still tolerate a lot of stuff which GP won't. So....there's no place like home Auntie Em. LOL.

I personally find forum bashing as bad as general trainer and/or method bashing. It serves no productive purpose.

Many of us belong to several boards, and have made friends on those boards. Some of my friends use similar methods, some do not. And, we all have our opinions.

If you truely share a love of dogs, why would you show up just to be cruel and disruptive?

But, I have noticed more people have been doing this recently, unfortunately.

Raised by Wolves,

My god, am I not allowed to vent to my friends on this forum? Certainly a person is allowed to feel anger in this situation, and I wouldnt' blame any other person for politely expressing so either(as I did).

Also, what I have done here(a simple vent because I was frustrated) is no where near as abusive and rude as that other member did on the other forum.

I would also like to add that I was not being cruel or disruptive at all on the other forum, nor on this forum. Please, get the facts straight before you make accusations!

And if you would, go read my PM that is posted above in quotes. NOTE THAT I DIDN'T GIVE OUT THE NAMES OF MEMBERS OR OF THE FORUM. Its called showing some respect.

I think you are misunderstanding what I was saying. I don't feel you were "forum bashing" at all. You were sharing an experience you found distasteful, and I agree with you.

Sorry, if you thought that was aimed at you. I assure you it wasn't.

I was just making a comment based my view of what I have personally found unproductive to both pet owners and their dogs.

I'm sorry, I was a bit harsh. I was still angry, but that is no excuse. I still feel the same way, but I wish I wouldn't have been so harsh in the way I replied. I am sorry.

I was a member with a forum that a member that just joined started to bash a member that was there longer. Now that member and I had a run in but that was a silly little thing over opinons and was resolved but what the new member said was harsh. She posted some thing that any one would of gotten angry over(oh I would of likes to give her a peice of my mind)- but that one member replyed as delicate as possible and the new member replyed rather harshly. It was amaizing- she bashed him(as so I can tell them apart) for what she asked for- his OPINION. So he left the forum- I was angry because I'm new to training was was hoping for some pointers from the more expr. trainers(the one that left was one of them). I stoped going to the forum too because it seemed more and more were replying with rude uncalled for comments.. But I do respect other opinions- I'll take a bashing but I take it better if give to me nicely or in a good way with nicely put words. But yes I've noticed alot of people acting harsh and rude too- its anoying and rather inmature imo. GP is nice with respectful members that act mature and nicely - the best forum I've been to hands down & 2 thumbs up

That's why GP is so great! I have snooped in other forums and always return to this one because of the way it is administered.
There is no reason in the world to behave rudely, everyone has differing opinions and that's fine...you learn by sharing opinions and hopefully in the end it is our beloved pets who will benefit.

P.S. That was very mature and responsible of you, Tessa , to express your dissatisfaction. I would be very proud of you if you were my daughter. Kudos to you dear!
