Question Brussels Griffon

Have any of you yourselves or known of someone that have owned one of these dogs? I think they are gorgeous little tykes and what I've read (though not in depth), I would like to adopt or foster one.

Have never met one but they are cute. I like the color of the one on that movie as good as it gets

Have you called any breeders? Some have older ones (show dogs/breeders) that are retired and in need of a home, or a rescue for them....

If you get one I would love to see pics

No, not yet. I'm still looking. It wouldn't be very soon that I could get one. But maybe after Boone is not so puppy-ish, I could find him a playmate.

Thanks for the link, dollface.

I've been searching through the adoption centers in my area online. Maybe one day I'll find one that works for me, brussels or not.

I know a Brussels breeder in Cloudcroft (New Mexico). She usually has several dogs on the show circuit. If you want to travel that far, I'll try and find her phone number and PM you with it.

There is a breeder in Oklahoma nearby that has been breeding them for 17 years. I may go out there in a few weeks to check it out. If I don't feel comfortable with that situation, then I'll let you know, flyndog.

Thanks so much!

We used to get a pair in at the boarding/breeding kennels i worked at before i started to breed my own dogs. They were quite sweet little things, but i'm generally not such a big fan of small dogs (i have two but totally by accident. lol.) Wouldnt recommend them around very small children though. Like a lot of small breeds they are a little sensitive about having their tails pulled! lol.

How are you and boone doing with the move? I have a breeder friend of brussels, he will tell you they are the best. They are very cute and friendly. I have heard they are real hard to housebreak? This breeder also bred Mini Schnauzers untill he got taken over by the grif's. LOL! He had been in Schnauzers forever and was very well know for his acomplishments with the breed. I ghess they finally did him in!!! LOL- Moonstar-

That's great, moonstar. I can see how someone could get taken over by the breed!

We're doing great. Boone adjusted to everything real well, except for the lack of a big yard to run and find the "perfect" spot to potty in. He'll adjust though, I have faith.
