Chat Update

Ok, a lot of you have been asking for an addition to the forum that would allow you to see who is in the chat room before going into it.

However, because our chat service is not on our server, but hosted elsewhere, I would have to pay up to $100/week just to get constant updates on who's online listed on the forum page.

Therefore, we will not have an addition listing currently active users.

As an alternative, we will have site sponsored chat times once per week. The chat room will still be open 24 hours/day, but we're now also going to have a once-per-week "official" globalpaw.com community chat.

So, please join us every Saturday from 6:00pm on through the night as we talk in the chat room. Formal dress optional.

Again, all times are Mountain Time (GMT - 7).

If you'd like to organize your own chat clubs as well, that's fine. We just ask that you PM a member of the staff for permission first.

Also, we ask that members no longer post threads asking people to chat at that very instant. The best way to get a good chat going is to organize it ahead of time.

Yeah, I really want there to be a thing that tells you if there's ppl in the chatroom before you enter it...that would nice.

Oh wow! Didn't even know there was a chat room. Still trying to find my way around this site.

unfortunatly, that cannot be done at this time due to the traffic this site gets and the cost that wouuld be pressed against us.

I think the idea of a communal chat is great, but without putting too fine a point on it, it happens to be 1 am Sunday morning for English members and 2 am Sunday morning for European members. Are any of the staff English, who would be willing to organize a chat at a more sociable time? Thanks.
