Any other avid readers?

I'm excited because I got a few gift cards to book stores for Christmas, and now I have 9 books sitting in my night stand to read. I'm a huge Steinbeck fan and 6 of the books are his that I haven't read yet. What are you reading?

I am currently reading "Wicked: The life and times of the wicked witch" It is very fun reading.
I read "A million little pieces" by James Frey a couple of weeks ago. That was a GREAT book. Had it read in about a week. Not too shabby considering I have a 2 year old at home.
Not sure what I will read next however I will most likely find out this weekend as I have less then 100 pages left in my current book.
I love to read, LOVE it.
My daughter is currently reading the ENTIRE chronicles of Narnia book. She read the first two a few months ago and decided she wanted the book with all SEVEN books in one totaling 778 pages. That should take her a while. She is currently on book three. She bought the $50 book with her own money...
I think I might read it when she is done. I read the lion the witch and wardrobe when I was a teenager.....

I bought "A Million Little Pieces" too. I'll tell you what I think after I read it.
Sounds like you also like fantasy/magic. Have you read "Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell"? I just read it and thought it was pretty good.

Part of the reason I am looking foreword to graduating. I hope to finish the two books I picked up last week, next week, which are...

Simple Taoism
Tao Te Ching

My little brother thought I would find it interesting and he knows me pretty well so I thought I would check it out and so far he is right. The perk next year is I have access to one of the largest libraries in the world w/out all the time commitment needed from class

I received 3 rottweiller books for Christmas and two dog training books. Plus Chicken Soup for the dog lovers Soul and a Rottweiller Magazine. So I will pretty much be reading about dogs for the next few weeks.

I read Tao te ching here:

Pretty interesting. I think that taoism in some ways reflects my views on spirituality.

"A Million Little Pieces" is amazing...I just finished it on the weekend.
I read alot, mostly Oprahs Book Club, because I need some guidance and can't be bothered spending hours in the book store searching on my own.
The Wally Lamb books on her list are also amazing...."She's come Undone" and "I know this much is true"
Both great books, I totally recommend them.

I'm reading "Clinical Interviewing", "Working With Relationship Triangles", and "Handbook of Applied Dog Behavior and Training Vol 3" (still). Raised by Wolves says all work and no play makes Kit a dull girl. Some day I will read something not nerdy...maybe.
I did read Wicked a year or two ago and also Tales of a Wicked Step Sister. My daughter gave me Son of a Witch for Christmas. I've read one page so far.

Right now I am reading "A Man Called Dave" by Dave Pelzer. It is one of three of the "A Child Called It" series. They are very sad, and they are supposed to be based on his life.

I do like to read but i have not been able to read that much lately.

I'm currently reading two books (which is unheard of for me I usually can only read one at a time):
The Oaken Throne by Robin Jarvis (good book, a little slower than the first of this series) & If Chins could kill: Confessions of a B movie Actor by Bruce Campbell (very funny, well written book that I'm enjoying a lot).

I'm a HUGE Terry Pratchett fan and am waiting to get his new one Thud! for my birthday in February (hopefully). I just read the companion book 'Where's my cow' (got it for xmas...Yay! ) which is a cute kids book he wrote.

I love reading but mostly I read TP & Robin Jarvis...I love fantasy, especially urban fantasy. However my absolute all time favourite book, EVER is Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden. I can't wait for the movie.

Cass.

I mainly read many dog training books. When I was younger and wasn't quite as busy, I was a big reader, though.

Right now I am waiting for "The Culture Clash" by Jean Donaldson... I ordered it from my library. I also ordered some agility related books, hoping that one of the few would be a good read.

Hi
i am currently out of reading supply... last one was "Training Dogs -a Manual"
by colonel Konrad Most. That was hard because it was translated from old German into english and i had to retranslate it again, i understood what was said, but I may reread it in English.

I sadly don't have a good bookstore arround or a nice library, where I can find good books, so I have to order them, but You never know what u get, when u can't atleast flip some pages in the books.

For storys I have a hard time finding books i like to keep reading.
Aktually my last series I bought was a kidsbook series, about a girl and horses.... After that hmm not really, then I found Richard Adams, And I loved it. from "Shardik" to the "Plaquedogs" But since then i mostly read dog or horsetraining books.slowly filling up my shelf.....

I'm making a library run tomorrow. I generally read a book a day, when I have the time. With school and the puppy, it's not always possible.

Last book I read was Velocity by Dean Koontz. Finished it in 6 hours.

I'm into horror/thriller type books, namely Stephen King, Dean Koontz. I also enjoy medical mysteries, like Robin Cook. And I'll read a bit of everything, except romance. I'd rather eat the book than read a romance novel.
