crazy place you have taken your dog?
I know in other countries dogs are allowed in cafe's and stuff, but in the US dogs are not allowed to go in very many public places.
Where is the strangest place you have ever taken your dog or smuggled your dog? You all know I take my dog to work all the time, and many think that is pretty unique. But maybe the funniest thing I have ever done was last winter when Jasmine was just three or four months old. My husband and I were in town with her and decided to go grocery shopping and it was cold and I didn't want to leave her in the car. So I wrapped her up in this big blanket like you would a baby and put her up on my shoulder like a baby and carried her into the grocery store like a baby. I made sure I kept the blanket up over the back of her head like you would a baby and kept her head against my shoulder and everyone in the store thought I was carrying a human baby, not a dog baby. My husband and I laugh about this all the time. Cuz the store would have for sure kicked us out if they knew I had a dog in there. Another time I was having a meeting in a resturant and it was a 4 hour meeting. She was like 5 months old and the resturant is always dark. So I got there early and snuck in and put her under the table near my feet and covered her with my coat and blanket and gave her a pig ear and some toys. She was there for a few hours until anyone noticed her at all, and then finally someone did notice her, and the young waitress leaned down and asked, "is that a service dog?" I just smiled and she went away. Jasmine was being sooooo good, she stayed there quietly all meeting. How about you? |

I, um, took Rumor into a gas station once. LOL. I was hungry, and she was with me, so I asked if he minded if she came in. He didn't mind at all, and everyone loved her. I honestly did expect him to say no, but it was pretty cool to have her in there.

It was job related, but I've had dogs in the White House, State Captiol Bldg in the state I'm currently residing and hundreds of airplanes. Even working I always thought that was kind of neat.

I once had to carry Finn into a hotel to ask for a torch, because it was night and I'd lost my keys. I was carrying Finn as his collar had snapped, and he weighed ten tons.
My arms start hurting again when I think of it. |

I'm so used to taking Mazie into Petco with me... Keep in mind that I'm legally blind without my glasses.. On this particular day, I had a pair of dark sunglasses on over my normal glasses because the light bothering my eyes.. My best friend and I walked through the front doors of Wal-Mart with Mazie and they didn't even ask questions. I didn't realize what I had done until we were at the checkout stand and the lady behind the counter goes, "Oh what a cute dog! What's her name? Can I pet her?" And then it clicked.... You can't buy legos and model cars at Petco!

I have mini dachshunds so it is easy to smuggle them anywhere. We have backpack dog carriers and we walk right into any store, mall, fair...etc. with our dogs right on our back. No one knows they are in there and the pups don't make a peep. I have even taken them into resturants and put the carriers under the table.

Hello
Well crazy place... uhhhmmmm For me it is not that crazy, so we went into Resaurants, Bars, Mals, and all kinds of other stores... yeah it is a little different to take ur dog in there, but at rush hour in the store you have quite some room arround you- not getting crowded, well that pays for itself. The only place were she couldn't go was in a grocerystore, but that is ok... She loves riding elevators... We had her in Motels and ocasionally we smuggeled her into one or two, too. she is very nice and the prices for bringing pets in a motel are very high, so we smuggeled her in, nobody noticed.... |

The day I picked up Missie I took her into a church because I had Bible study that night. We didn't stay, but I took her in to show her off.
And then she came to gymnastics with me every week (sometimes twice a week, I think) and hung out in the waiting room area with my mom. She practically grew up in that gym, now that I think of it. lol Sometimes after class she was allowed to come play on the floor and such. She lost her first tooth on one of the mats. *laughing* Not chewing on it, just sitting there!! |

I take mine in any store except Wal-Mart. I use the doggie stroller and just drape a large scarf or small blanket over the mesh parts.
I did smuggle a friends little Yorkie into the hospital to see her though. ![]() |

Calgal, that is quite a feat, to get a dog into the hospital. Do you think we would be able to smuggle Jasmine in? LOL?
Have you had problems at Wal-mart , is that why you don't take her there? Does anyone ever try to look in your stoller expecting to see a human baby? |

Hmm...the strangest place Jesse has ever been was the video store. I just didn't like to leave him at home on his own because I hadn't long adopted him so I took him with me. The woman at the store loved him though and he was a welcome guest. He would even sit on the counter as she tallied up what I owed her for the videos. LOL Lucky he's so small.
