Unfortunately there is no completely safe way to fly a large dog. They are put in the cargo hold beneath the plane, which is exposed to extreme temperatures and is sealed off from air from the time the cargo hatch closes to the time the plane actually gets moving.
Dogs have been known to die when shipped and I think you will find more responsible breeders that don't ship over ones that do.

The health guarantee and genetic testing they do sounds like nothing but lip service. A vet checkup is not genetic testing. I don't see any mention of CERF, OFA, Penn-hip or other acknowledged, legitimate genetic testings.

Just my opinion.

life in danes. Our concentration is on the care and appropriate nutrition of
all our dogs as sound, healthy and happy dogs produce puppies who are off to
the best possible start they can get in life-and that is one of the main
goals of our breeding program.

All of our mommies and daddies have been raised here and are strong and
healthy-free of any known genetic defects. All of the dogs that are being
bred are given a comprehensive checkup once a year that includes a complete
blood screen for thyroid, liver function, etc. They are checked on a regular
basis for mobility function, joints, heart, etc.
All the pups are vet checked at least twice before they go home for heart,
joint range of motion and flexibility and general overall health."

I dunno, I could always maybe go and check the place out someday to see it in person, and talk to the person. In my opinion you can get a better perspective of somebody's thoughts on something by talking to them in person.
If you really are interested in these people call them and ask them that, if you were to visit, could you see proof of all the genetic tests they do. A reputable breeder would have no problem with it.

But, sorry I really think these people are after profit only. They may love their dogs, but it's irresponsible to just breed and breed despite the fact that you aren't contributing to the breed.

They only breed "companion" dogs. That irritates the heck outta me. I want to know why they breed at all.

Cass.

Stating that a breeder that ships is not responsible is very rude and judgemental thing to say. I will be getting my new dog shipped from Georgia. This breeder is absolutely wonderful and certainly is very responsible with her dogs, and certainly doesn't see them as JUST objects.

Tessa you are free to disagree with me, but I see shipping as irresponsible.
