I'm in Heaven!
My husband and I bought a new sleep number bed. Oh-My-GOSH!!! It is the most wonderful bed in the world. Last week we went to the dreaded mall, on a weekend no less!! * shudders * and we walked by a store that had a bunch of displays. We were invited to come and try one out. We both fell in love and we ordered one an hour later. I couldn't believe it...we didn't even have a pow-wow about it before we made the decision and handed over the credit card without thinking. I have been worried ever since...what if the models at the store are different than what they send you??? What if it doesn't feel the same and they just make it super soft for your to try so they can get you to buy it??? I mean, that was an expensive purchase that we made without even thinking about it for 24 hours. We always think about it for 24 hours darn it!! That was always my rule and I'm the sensible one! Well no worries, I was sleeping in heaven on soft fluffy clouds all night long. I didn't get out of bed until 10am today. I woke up because the sun was in my eyes, not because my back was kicking me out of bed.

I've always wondered about those sleep number beds...so they're really comfy? Wonder if I could convince my husband to try one out...you see , my dear husband could sleep on a slab of cement...truly, his head hits the pillow and he is out for the night, where as I toss and turn because of the pain.
Well I guess I'll have to go into the nag mode . Mind if I tell him what a good experience you guys had? |

Go for it. All you have to do is go to the mall and have him try it. We have been talking about getting a new mattress for a while now. I was the one who needed convincing and it only took a few minutes of playing with the remote control to be hooked. They are expensive and the stupid commercials on tv really made me skeptical. Anything on tv that tells me to call and get a free video without telling me the price makes me immediately change the cannel.
My husband, Bruce, can fall asleep mid sentence! It ticks me off!!! I watch tv, toss, turn, get up and take asprin, watch more tv and eventually fall asleep somewhere between 3 and 5 am. Bruce kisses me goodnight and the next breath is a snore! GRRR!!! Last night the last time I looked at the clock was 1am ( when I went to bed ) and the next time I looked at the clock it was 10am. I even woke up in the same position I went to sleep in. |

The prices range from 1500 all the way up to 5,000!!!!!! We got the lower end model. We got a queen with one inch of pillow top. They have all kinds of different pillow tops but I didn't notice any difference between the lowest model to the most expensive. The most expensive one is because you can move it up and down like a hospital bed. We don't want or need anything like that. It is also cheaper to set it up yourself. They offered to bring it, set it up and take away our old mattress. We saved about 200 dollars to do it ourselves and it was really easy and fun. We love putting furniture together anyways. We always said if there was a job to just go to cheap furniture stores and put the stuff together, we would take it! ROFLOL!! EDIT: My husband has had 3 back surgeries and has constant nerve pains in his legs and back. He gets up every morning and heads straight to the cabinets for asprin. I hope this will help relieve some pain for him. I'll let you know in a few weeks if it helps him. My back hurts all the time too but I don't have damage...I just lift a lot everyday for my job. I'm on vacation now so my back doesn't hurt anyway but when I go back to work I hope I notice a difference too. |

They make one that is 96 inches long for the tall guys. I suppose if we all lay down length wise...hmmmm. No, that wouldn't work....we all couldn't have our own sleep number....our heads would be at 44 and our legs would be at 80. We need a sleep number bed that has 3 air chambers. I suppose we would need to buy a whole bed just for all the dogs. The wieners and chis could set their side softer ( say 35 ) and the doberman and lab could have a stiffer mattress ( 80 ) ROFLOL!!
