Talking It's a girl!
And she is a black lab!! My mom called that Leader Dog place up in Michigan to ask about our puppy, and they said they had a female black lab with our name on it!! YEY!!! *does a little happy dance*
It's kinda ironic because I was telling my mom that I didn't want the pup before basketball season was overwith, and the day we're getting the pup is the day right after our last game...I think it is Feb. 18 or something like that.
So anyways, I'm so excited!! And I think I already have a name picked out if it suits the pup...Sadie. When my mom told me we were getting a female black lab, that name just popped into my head. (Which I find kind of funny because all of my creatures' names have ended in the "e" sound...Blackie, Rosie, Loupie, Brownie, Rush(ie), Abby, Casey, Freddie...lol)

Just thought I'd share!!!

Yep, my mom's the best! And if it wasn't for Dad (the party-pooper when it comes to animals) I think we'd have about two more dogs right now, plus a Canery. lol

And if the pup doesn't make the cut when we give it back to the orginization and it is put up for adoption...well...take a wild guess. (It will most likely be ours. )

I totally freaked my friend out though...it was great. I went up to her at b-ball practice and I was like, "Sara! It's a girl and she's black!" She looked at me like she was going to faint until I busted up laughing and told her I was talking about a dog we were going to get.
She got really mad at me and she was like, "I'm going to kill you! I thought you were saying you were pregnant and it was a girl!" (Which was what I wanted her to think just so I could see her facial expression. ) You kinda had to be there, but it was really funny.

Well, I goofed up on when I'm getting her. It is Feb. 12, not the 18! That is almost in two weeks! Yey!

The only thing that is nagging at me right now is that I don't know the training meathods this place uses. I'm hoping that they do the positive reinforcement and not the traditional training, because how in the heck are you supposed to train a puppy without treats? I mean really? Even the "choke chain using" dog training book I have uses treats when first teaching the command.
And our cat is just going to love us for bringing in a wiggly puppy...I think he'll kill me in my sleep.

My mom is freaking out because we are going to have five dogs this april...two seniors and three puppies. AH!!!!!!! lol
We are going to be watching a friends Shih Tzu pup again (he is probably around a year old now...but still a pup) and their new Husky puppy. Plus Blackie and Rose and Sadie, who will still be a little pupper.
I think our cat will really kill us then...a Shih Tzu older pup, a halfway to 3/4 of the way grown Husky puppy, and then a wiggly Lab pup that will be five months old...Yikes.
