I love the medium to large breeds and I have to agree with what Rottanpagan said LOL! That was a very cute way of putting it! Sorry Cass ! Seriously though I would eventually love a little lap dog, probably a Chi or Chi-cross from the shelter. After being around GSD's and bully breeds "who by the way thought they are lap dogs" A little ball of fur that doesn't MEOW would be nice! LOL!

Growing up, I always had large dogs. I adopted a 23 lb mix/mutt from my boyfriend's grandfather 14 years ago. It was sure nice to have a dog I could just pick up! I had her and my 85 lb lab/mix at the same time.

Tia is about 50 lbs. I do like this medium size. But, I wouldn't mind having a really tiny one...someday.

Love Malamutes, GSD, Lab's, retrievers, all medium\large hounds to bad I'm stuck in a townhome right now. My mini bully does me just fine, most of the big dogs traits without the barking and size issues.

Im a huge fan of med/large dogs. I never thought I would ever live with a small dog. But of course then I fell in love. When I moved in with my husband he had two Min Pins. Certainly the smallest dogs ive ever lived with. lol, my old cat was bigger then them! But they started to grow on me.
Im sure well always have a Bulldog arround from now on, and a Samoyed if I get my way. However we probably will get a Min Pin sooner or later, although im pushing for a different small dog- A Boston maybe? Frenchie?

I always will prefer larger dogs, but small dogs have grown on me.... every marriage needs comprimise.

I'm a medium/big dog person! But not too big, for me I prefer about 50-70lbs...thats perfect for me, probably because my dogs have always been that size but I'm used to that size... although I wouldn't mind having a dog smaller or bigger than that

I put prefer medium to large breeds, however I DO also like a really good little terrier. Its only toy breeds I really dislike, wont be seeing one of those around my house in this lifetime.

I've always had medium to large dogs, but I'll love on any affectionate dog. We may end up getting a smaller dog next time. As much as I love Brandy, at 65 pounds she's kind of hard to lift into DH's SUV. As I get older, a dog that size may become harder for me to lift. DH has his heart set on a dachshund, so that would be quite a shift for the next dog.

I have nothing against little dogs at all, and I've met some very lovely little dogs. But I am and always have been a BIG dog person. My girls are in the 50-55 lb range and they seem so small to me. I am definitely drawn to giant dogs.

Big dogs, all the way! I have to admit, though, that I have a soft spot for chihuahuas.

I've never had a small dog, Alley is the smallest at about 40 pounds. I would be deathly afraid I would injure anything smaller (childhood trauma). However, I used to think I wanted a large large breed, like an Irish Wolfhound, but I've found that the largest breeds are too aloof for me.

Well, probably that's because you were looking at sighthounds. There are other large dogs which are not aloof. What about a nice, big fluffy Newfoundland. They're so sweet. Or, how about a Great Dane? LOL. My Dobe stands at about 29" and 95Lb. He's called a medium sized dog, but he seems pretty big compared to what I've had in the past, except my GSDs. They were pretty big, 28" and about 100LBs. And he's about as loyal and affectionate and into his owner as they come...to the people he knows. Other people, he's a tad aloof, but after they visit for about 20 minutes, he becomes a pest for affection. LOL.

I use to have neighbors who bred and showed Irish Wolfhounds. The owner said they were hard to train on account of that prey drive and had difficulty focusing. They were death on other dogs....killed a little stray fluffy dog who wandered into their pasture. They had to put up a chain link fence after that. But when I went to their house, they were so friendly, very interested and affectionate with me. I wasn't a regular visitor either. So, they seemed to be very people oriented. But maybe that was those particular dogs...used to seeing lots of people or something.

I always had medium to large breeds. My family owned German Shorthairs, Dalmations, GSD X, and such. I LOVE German Shorthairs!!!!!! Bailey and Lucy are the first small breed I have owned and I love them. I love being able to take them everywhere. They don't act like small dogs at all. I don't treat them any different than the big dogs I had. We play fetch and frisbee, we go running in the park and on the beach. They go through obedience classes and have to mind their manners. The only difference is I can pick them up and smooch them without having my back go out! LOL!!

We've always had medium to large dogs, but then I got a Shih Tzu and that did it for me. I prefer the smaller dogs now. I love the small lap dog that can comfortably sleep with us and we can take more places.

I'm a "size doesn't matter" person You can have a LOT of dog in a small body or a very easy mellow dog in a huge giant breed dog.

I go more by type / group, exercise needs, personality, coat type etc . I adore herding dogs. I'd never own a hound or a terrier because they don't suit me. I'd never choose a giant breed because of their short life span and the thought of owning a HUGE puppy and all the work that entails *shudder*.
I truly admire some of those breeds and love my friends dogs but I wouldn't own one.

Well, obviously I love the large breeds!! I want an Irish Wolfhound soooo bad! LOL If I had the money, I would have about 5 Mastiffs, 4 or 5 IWs, Some Newfies, Saints, and well, the list goes on!! LOL Although I do have Max (JRT)....it took the hubby 2 years to convince me to get one. I love him!! But one is plenty....I have to really look for him so I don't step on him, or shut him in the door....lol

But all in all.....the bigger the better!!
