I know, I'm bad that it took me so long to do it but finally got it done. Felt so bad for the poor guy. They gave him some lidocaine to numb him up and he did not like that at all. He was really good for the actual insertion of the chip, didn't struggle or cry at all. I think the lidocaine was worse than the chip.
Question for you guys who have chipped. Who did you register with? They gave me forms for registery with the AKC CAR program and one for Home Again Recovery Services which is who the chip is through. They said I go could with either one. I already did the AKC one because it was only 12.50 verus 17.50 for the other one. Should I dual register or should we be ok with being on file at the vets and the CAR program? Thanks! |

Woohoo! Good for you guys
All 5 pugs here are chipped.. I've never been given the option of who to register it with ~ that's a new one on me. My first three were registered with CAR.. And I think the last 2 were with AVID. With the scanners.. if they read one.. like if they read the CAR one.. can't they read the AVID one too? Or no? Anyone know? |

i think having them chipped is more traumatic for us than them lol
In australia we dont have a choice it is a registration and thats that. I should imagine either would be readable by both. |
