Well, it seems that lately, anytime I laugh at anything that Lyric does, (this does not include obedience) he does it more. I've had a lot of dogs in my 50 years of life and I've never had one who made me laugh so much, every single day as this Doberman.
This latest little thing he does is not naughty, but just, plain weird. He often doesn't finish his food in one sitting, so after about 15 minutes, I'll pick it up and set it on top of the toaster over on top of my counter. Some time later, I'll be standing near at the sink or something and I'll look to my immediate left. And there Lryic stands eyeballing his food bowl. But looking at it isn't enought to get my attention so that I'll give it to him. Oh no....He has to do something funny. (he's not much of a whiner) So he tilts his chin up, just a tad and presses his black nose against the edge of the counter.......hard, so that it's squished and turned upward....bent. It looks like it would hurt. Even his mouth is involved with this leaning into the counter. And he breathes heavily. So, naturally the first time, and everytime....I really chuckled at his antics. So, now he does it all the time when he wants something that's on the counter. He knows better than to just take something off like he use to do and is quite capable of reaching. If I'm chopping something for dinner or stirring something on the stove, here comes the big, black nose. ![]() |

Unleash The Possibilities

I knew a Dobe named Rosie. Rosie's owner had an embrodery business in Miami and Rosie was always at the shop. Rosie was a character, too and everybody loved her. But Rosie liked to put her nose some place else. She would quietly sneak up behind customers and goose them! You'd never know she was there. I think she liked to see people's reaction as much as she liked checking them out! I used to love to be there when a stranger came in.

Oh yes....all time major goosers, these Dobes. And yes, it's not just the typical checking you out. Lyric gooses me, then cranes his neck around to see my face. I swear to God. He makes eye contact. Then he gooses me again, especially when I've just gotten out of the shower. I HATE it! But I screech....can't help it and he gets a big charge out of it.
Oh yeah....these Dobes....it's not enough to come in the bathroom with you and watch like other dogs do. They feel it their duty to HELP you with all the things you must do. Rosie sounds like a typical character of a Doberman....lots and lots of character! LOL. |
