I use a bunch of old socks stuffed into one sock and insert a treat then I tie up the sock and off they go. It will usually get a tug-of-war going.
I will also use an old tennis ball, drill a hole in it and put a treat inside. Kinda like a "Kong". Another sock toy I make is tying many together end to end. |

Find some cheap fleece and braid it into a really strong rope toy. That or and old t-shirt cut up and braided

OH mulroony, that's an awsome idea!!! I have fleece, cotton and other fabrics left over from making things for the dogs. I just made them a cheeta print (fur like) round lounging bed to stay in the computer room since they hang out here and never leave my sight for a minute. (I painted the room a goldish green and will do wild animal theme).

Hello
-i make socks with knots in it -and take a piece of cotton an wrap some treats in it make as many knots in it as you can to hide the treat, they love to rip it appart -wrap some treats in newspaper put them in a box and let the dogs search for it -sniffing things are easy, too hide a treat under plastic cups, make a hole in each one so they have to find the one with the treat -make a hole in a tennisball get a rope through or put two tennisball on one rope -a rolled towel makes a god tugtoy -plastik bottles filled with beans or other little harmless things are fun sometimes, too. it makes nice noises -build a "fishingpole" (there is actually a name for that but well the language.maybe somebody knows the right name in english -I know it as "Reiz-angel") It is a stick with a rope on it and you tie a tugtoy sock sleeve whatever on it and let the dog chace it. it is so much fun |

We could put a dent in the Pet Shops you guys. I think putting treats in those plastic bottles would be fun for them too. I may have to get my husbands surf pole out and tie something on the line and take it outside and go around in circles for the girls to chase. I think it's called lure coursing.

~Put peanut butter in a toilet paper roll twist. And tie ends with ribbon. put a little peanut butter on the outside.
~Drill a hole in a filmcase and put beans inside tie with string. Makes noise and your dog can pull it. Make sure you super glue the lid on. ~Get anise extract and soak a stuffed toy (thats dog proof). its just like cat nip except for dogs. You may want to reapply after a few days. |
