I can't even believe what I just saw on the news this morning. Another dog attack in Boston but this time I knew the owner of the dogs that did the attack
. I talked to him on a few occassions at my local dog park. His two dogs are a female pitbull (mother) and a male pitbull/weimaraner mix (son). They attacked a womens dog by the guys house and while the women was trying to rescue her dog the female pitbull bit part of her finger off. They got out because at the time the pit owner was unloading groceries from his car while she was walking by with her dog. He seemed like a nice guy to me but lacked basic education skills as far as being a "good" dog owner. On one occassion while I was talking to him I was "trying" to educate him on spaying and neutering them or at least get the male pit mix done because he is the females off spring and would still try to mate with his mother, he said that he would still like to breed the female because she is from great lines and that he didn't want to chop his males testicles off because he would miss seeing them back their and he didn't want to look at an empty sack . His female got pregnant when he was out walking her one night while she was in heat, the owner of the weim had let him loose and we all know what happens after that . So now his dogs are in quarrantine for ten days and he has been heavily fined because in the city of Boston pitbull owners are supposed to have their dogs Spayed/Neutered and muzzled in public. It's a shame because they are blaming these dogs and the only reason why the women got bit was because she was trying to brake up a dog fight (which was a stupid move) and save her little dog (which I can't blame her for). One other thing that the owner of the pits is doing that is ridiculous is that he is now trying to pass of his mixed breed as a full blooded weimaraner which if you saw the dog and new your breeds you could easily see the pit in him. When I had run into the guy a few times at the park he would let the male run and play with the other dogs but would keep his female on a 2 foot leash and a prong collar because he said she was dog aggressive towards other females and small dogs. So I am thinking that she initiated the whole thing and that her son followed that pack instinct and attacked as well because he showed no signs of aggression when he was at the park but then again he was only 11 months old and it was last fall so who knows. Crazy, crazy, crazy ![]() |

Awww, wow. That is just horrible that it happened. But really, what do they expect if she tried to break up the fight?? The dogs or the owner should not be in trouble for that incident, only the part where his dogs were attacking the small dog. But with the all the people out there against and hating pitbulls I am sure it will turn into a big thing about the dogs being human aggressive or something.
I'm sorry you knew this person. Reality always hits harder when it hits close to home. |
