How wrong..
I think that the TV show road rules should not have any dogs on it. I am whatching right now, and it is showing attack dogs (GSD's) ttacking them adnd I dont think that it is a good reputation because its showing the dogs attacking and looking VERY vicious.

Not that I've seen this road rules, or any in the past few years, but I don't think anyone on that show would be smart enough to "see anything" in the eyes of a GSD. I can assume MTV didn't spend the money to do an actual informative show on the selection and training of PPD's, they probably just showed aggressive looking dogs baring teeth and biting sleeves.

I agree with GSD- those dogs are trained to attack on command for whatever reason....the road rullers are rather ignorant in everything ive seen and probably dont even know they are GSD's, let alone what their eyes say.

Dogs that have been trained in Schutzhund must show a more stable temperament than many dogs out there. It is really too bad that so many breeds have gotten away from Schutzhund qualifying and training, as I would prefer to have a dog that is NOT going to bite me from fear or misplaced aggression, which IMO is often the dogs that Schutzhund weeds out! I have not seen this Road Rules episode, and I am sure they are ignorant, but please, try to not lump dogs, or their activities, into "Attack" categories. That is also a misrepresentation of a wonderful sport and a training that many dogs would benefit from. |

I dont know about some people, but I'm astounded at the level of training the Police dogs have. (And of course, they need it.) I was watching the national police dog trials on Animal Planet and I'll tell you one thing, I'd rather meet a Police dog that is being "aggresive" that is under its handiler's complete control (like chasing someobdy then being called back halfway to the guy...amazing.) than meeting an aggresive dog that your average John Q. Public owns.
