No the other end of British Columbia. Far Far (18 hours) from Vancouver. Right beside Prince Rupert. Most people have never heard of the place.
Friday nights, oh yes. Lots to do. Expecially if you love the outdoors. |

My dad's a truck driver and so are my uncle's and brother in law... Of course I've been to that truck stop.
I can't remember the name of it, but I think it's called Jubitz..As for throwing axes... I took an Ag class in high school, and we had a competition behind the school where we threw hatches at a chunk of wood raised into the air with a target painted on it.. I took 1st place, nailing the bullseye 3 times in a row.. lol.. So much fun. ![]() |

eagle I cracked up laughing when you asked are aborigines treated as second rate citizens.
If you are a white person in australia and commit a crime you go to jail if you dont send your kids to school you get fined if you abuse your kids they are taken from you if you dont work you dont eat if you dont rent or buy a house you are homeless if you buy a car on payment and dont pay they take it off you Now lets look at Aborigines Cops are to scared to jail them for fear of retribution so they go their merry way doing whatever whenever They get paid to send thier kids to school they can beat thier kids no docs for them the government supports them pays off their cars and supplies them with better homes than many of us can afford. Now to a much nicer subject.. aussie marsupials and wildlife are wonderful. Koalas are cute to look at but they sure can be mean lol wombats are wonderful creatures the quoll is terrifying yet beautiful to watch in full stride. Australia is an amazing country Am I racist NOPE If an aborigine lived next door to me and bought his own home with his own hard earned cash he would be a most welcome neighbour. |

I never really had a choice, my parents up and moved out of England when I was fairly young. I'm a bit "edgy" when it comes to moving, I've lost count of how many houses I've lived in. All I know is i've passed the 30 mark. I was a bit bummed out when we came here. My parents had sent in immigration forms to Canada and Australia. Of course my brother and I wanted Australia...WOOHOO! At the time, I'd never even heard of Canada...haha. But, it came down to whichever application came in first. Well, you can guess which one it was. I have no regrets, but I still wanna get out to Australia one of these days. ![]() |

What a fun thread.
I live in Northen Michigan near Lake Michigan. It is beautiful up here, and unfortunately everyone thinks so and is trying to move out of the cities like Detroit and move up here. Many "downstaters" move after retirement and many buy 2nd homes while they are still working and vacation up here. White tail deer hunting used to be pretty great, and we still do it, but so many of the woods are being cut down to build homes that it is not nearly as good as it used to be. The fishing is ok, there are a few native american tribes up here that are still allowed to fish with gil nets, so they kill alot of fish per year, and the Lakes have also been infiltrated by Zebra Mussles which have killed off alot of fish, however made the water sooooo clean and clear. None the less, wish they weren't here. |

what part of the panhandle are you from? i have been to amarillo and dalhart. i hope my picture is still at the big texan. maziedog: i think you are right about the name, i used to drive truck back in 91, and i still remember the place. throwing axes i got second place in spokane, haven't done it since, i do remember that a girlscout got first place and won the competition. i didn't have as much of a problem with it as the guy who got third. of course she was my girlfriend at the time.lol linnie: wow that sucks, so much for equality. what is a quoll? i've always wanted to goto austrailia but never had the oppurtunity. have you seen a duckbilled platypuss? britishbandit: i know how you feel, i'm 38 and i have lived in twice as many places, not counting repetes. i still want to goto austrailia too. here in texas it's pretty flat where i'm at, the only thing we have here is mesquite and pump jacks. it sucks big time. anaconda: t've a little scott in me as well. actually you take all the bad tempered races, mix badly, add four native american tribes, and you get me. SO SCREWED!!lol how are the beaches in spain? are they as beautiful as the one in austrailia or trashy like the ones in new york? mrs grubby: the last time i was in michigan i was about 10. i went to grand rapids with my step mom. i remember then that the water wasn't very clear and you didn't go swimming in it.that is also the first time i saw a red racer. sorry to hear that the city folks are closing in, and that the hunting is going down. i still remember all the trees there, almost like oregon. have you been across the macinaw bridge? i heard about it from my step mom. she said it was pretty cool, someday i will get to see it. hey everyone thanks for answering my questions and keep yours coming. thanks eagle12167 |
