Oh Boy

So, as many of you know, I'm enjoying my last year of high school right now...and if you notice, I'm home a bit early today.

Let's just say that I'm glad that we practice fire drills...

Our school is divided into 6 wings, 4 old wings, and two new wings...all connected. At 8:00am this morning, the upper portion of one of the new wings filled with smoke...we later learned that someone had set fire to the entire bathroom in that area.

Quickly, smoke filled over two thirds of the school, and right before the fire alarms went off, I asked the person next to me if they thought there was a haze in the room...

So, all 3,000 students ran out of the building...as we watched smoke come out of the new wing...and an hour later, they let us go home...and there is talk that tomorrow might be cancelled as well...because the fire apparently found its way to several chemicals and plastic linings...making the smoke toxic.

So, that's my story for the day...it was simply insane.

By the way, it took the fire department 25 minutes to show up...

A day off is great. But do you have to make it up at the end of the year?

nah, we're on a district schedule, and because this is just one school, they won't bother to change it.

im in last year too, and 3 years ago we had a bomb scare

Coz someone phoned the school saying it but there was no name so we all ran out of the school and got send home

there was police men and fire men around the school!! But in the end there was no bomb scare and everything was back to normall!!Crazy is'nt it!!

We had a bomb scare my freshman year...right after 9/11...so we had to evacuate, but we were allowed in after the bomb sniffing dogs went over the place...

When I was a freshmen, the building right next to our school burned down so we got to go home for the day. It started like right after school started...so we basically got the whole day off. When I was a senior we had a bomb scare and everyone had to evacuate the building. Well it was like 15-20 degrees outside and I wore my light jacket that day because I didn't have to ride the bus...well very bad decision.

We had to stand outside for like 4 hours! I was an icicle. That wasn't the only bomb scare...but that was the most memorable(because it was torture!
