Scared out of my wits

So, today, I decided to make bread from scratch. It was all going swimmingly, it was rising like it's supposed to, etc. I ran upstairs to grab a sweatshirt. I came down to Saboo licking out the inside of the bread pan. The dough was missing. Completely gone. Hippo's the only one who can reach the counter.

I didn't think this was a good idea, so I googled dogs and bread dough... Sure enough, definitely not fun. I call the emergency vet, he tells me that I need to bring them in to induce vomiting. I ask if that's all that needs to be done and he said yes, possibly with antibiotics on the side.

I remembered that you can use hydrogen peroxide to induce vomiting. As luck would have it, I had bought some no less than 3 hours earlier. Each of them got 2 tablespoons full... Nothing doing.

I stuck leashes on them both and put them in the car to take them to the vet. A half mile from home, I hear a little rumble... and then my car is covered in yeast-y bread dough-y vomit. And then some more. And then came the peanut butter and kibble from their kongs. And then the pupperoni. And then the grass. You get the idea.

Both of them are just fine now, although a little hungry, I'm sure. I'm bringing them to work with me in the AM to see what my vet has to say and maybe get antibiotics.

::huge sigh of relief::

crisis averted, my friends.

up on top of the ref. next time. So who's the lucky one that got to clean the inside of the car. Glad they up-chucked their finds and hopefully they wont need any meds.

good grief by the time i had cleaned up the dogs and my vomit (cause I would have ) I think I would be having a wine and a quiet night glaring at the dogs that caused the havoc lol
Glad it had a good ending for those naughty kids
