Barrett - I'm sure it wasn't so funny to you yesterday, but it's pretty comical what big old babies men can be when they get sick. They could cut their arms off and not whine a bit but by golly, they sneeze one time and they're going to die for sure!! LOL!

So good morning, everyone! It's absolutely beautiful here. 68 degrees this morning and won't get up past 82. I LOVE fall weather. And when the trees start to turn, I'll be in heaven.

Admitting I'm computer illiterate, I've lost a forum I'd like to visit again. I registered with a forum called "Da Doghouse. When I click the link I have it says the site does not exist. Has anyone heard of this site, and if so, do you have a link that works? Thank you in advance for any help you may give.

Barrett,

You're a scream. Boy oh boy....can I relate! Everything you describe, right down to picking up the remote a cazillion times because they're too weak to get it. Yes, men absolutely almost die when they have a cold. There's something different about them. All of their body systems are about to shut down and if anything gets out of whack, it's our fault because we didn't get the kleenex box to them quick enough or the chicken soup the right temperature. I was married for 21 years to the biggest baby of them all. LOL. A-h-h-h-h the fond memories. LOL.

Well, I can see why you needed to make an exodus with your pooch.

Talk about babies. I've been suffering severe tendonitis in my shoulder and am going to my first physical therapy session today and am on some powerful anti inflammatories. I'd much sooner have a cold all year around than this. This is freaking painful and I have windows to wash, a water system outside to shut down (takes two hands...complicated), mowing, well, in general, things to do and my right arm will not raise more than 6 inches from my thigh. That's why I haven't been online as much. It hurts and just plain no strength whatsoever to use the mouse and I need to move my right arm with my left one. G-r-r-r.

I can still walk, so have been enjoying the beautiful fall weather and nice walks with my dogs. Sometimes we go to the beach and sometimes a woodsy hike or an open walk across the golf course if no one is golfing.

A-w-w Fireworks. We must have posted at the same time. I'm sorry about your migrane. That sucks!

It sounds like you're not having a great time. Yeah....that is irritating when people mess up your place and have no respect! G-r-r-r.

I'm sorry about the house that sold. I'm sure you'll come on another one even better. These things happen.

Good luck on your test! Maybe that will go better for you.

Carrie - I'm sorry to hear that you're in pain. There's nothing worse than when something like that happens and alters you're whole lifestyle. I hope your therapy works and you get back to normal soon.

Fireworks - I get migraines also. I actually just went through a hellish one this weekend. I'm sorry you have to be frustrated at home and work and still be sick with a headache. Do you take any prescription meds (if that's not too private of a question) for your headaches? I finally broke down and called my doc because nothing works anymore. I'm immune to all the over the counter stuff.

Good morning all...I'm sitting in my marketing class right now...bored. Thankfully, they have wireless networks everywhere, so I am able to connect to the internet.

Still smells like smoke everywhere, from the fire yesterday. Anywho...I'll talk to you all later.

yea I take Imitrex but it can screw up up pretty bad if you take it more then 4 times a month...I took it the last night so I shouldnt take it again today...over the counter ones actually make mine worse do to the unhumanly ammount of caffine in it. (caffine in small doses gives me a headache- and make my migranes worse)

they arnt as bad as they used to be...before I saw the doc about them I got them every day..well it was more like one 3 month long migrane...they thought it was some wierd brain disease at first cuz I was loosing my eyesight. At 20 going blind was wierd. so im on beta blockers to try and prevent them, and then Imitrex for when I do get them- which thanxfully isnt as often anymore thanx to the beta blockers.

H&G Wednesday

Hi Carrie, FWIJ, KJM, QW, Lil'Paws and all who follow!

Carrie and FWIJ, sorry to hear you guys aren't up to par! Get better soon.
KJM, fall is my favorite season. I love the smell of smoke in the air.
QW, not YOUR kind of smoke I'll bet you are bored in Marketing. Now you know how Bill Gates felt.. BTW, remember us when you're that rich!
Lil'Paws, have a good one!
Cozy got a distemper shot today. She was very brave. Threw up the aspirin the doc gave her and now is curled up in my bed.

I have big news. My vet friend told me that I'm getting some competition in the area, so I've redone my biz cards and brochure, upgraded to a real website (which should be up in a day or two) and started an advertising blitz. I live in a tri-city area, each town 30 miles away, total population for area, around 7,000 people. There's not room in this town for both of us! Instead of having a show-down at high noon, I'll see if we can cooperate. She's yet to call me.

Got yer six shooters strapped to your hips? Good luck!

Hey, you're not all that far from me if you mean the same Tri Cities as I think you do. LOL. Well, I guess it's a little far. I'm very far north in Idaho, about 1.5 hours east of Spokane.

Oh, and thank you for your good wishes and Kjm too. Hope everyone will be fine soon. Those migranes have got to be terrible!

I take Imitrex also. But I only take a half a pill ONLY when it's absolutely necessary to take one. And I seem to be the opposite of you. Sometimes, if I can feel a bad one coming on, I'll run to the pop machine and get a Coke and then take a couple Exedrin Migraine and I'm good. USUALLY. Sometimes NOTHING helps.

What exactly do the beta blockers do? I haven't heard anything about them. My migraines are usually triggered by something: hormones, stress, fatigue or sometimes food. So I only have one about once a month or 2. I'm glad you've got them under control though. I know how miserable it is.

And speaking of shots, I've got to take Booners in to get a second kennel cough shot. I waited until the last round of boosters to request one and now I've got to go back to get a second one for him so it'll take. But he's always done VERY well getting "shot" and has never had a reaction (except for being a little groggy that evening), so hopefully this last one will go okay.

OH! and flyndog - GOOD LUCK with your competition! I definitely think it is smarter to team up instead of spending time and money trying to oust each other all the time! LOL!

Well, it looks like we all are enjoying the new Howl & Growl. I hate that you too Fireworks and kjm are having migraines. I feel for you. I only have them once every few months. I use Imitrex. But, My DH uses Maxalt. He takes Depakote to head them off daily. The doctors have finally come to a conclusion about his. Dr. said he was having caffine withdrawls. They always hit about 3 O'clock in the morning. Needless to say I get woke up then also. Kind'a hard to go back to sleep at that time.
Hope the therapy helps you Carrie. And for the competition with the other company Kit. Good luck. I know first hand how that can be. DH has his own Towing Co. And that can be pretty competive at times.
Barrett, Men are huge babies.Take my DH for instance, he had to go to the DR. with a sinus infection. Hes been acting like its killing him. I said know you know how I felt when I had one.

I hope you guys feel better soon, Fireworks and Carrie. My dad had tendonitis in his shoulder too, but it hasn't really bothered him in a long time. As for migraines, I get them on occasion, usually in Arizona, because of the heat.

Dakota went to puppy class yesterday, he did a pretty good job, but his breeder and the puppy class trainer was in the hospital and they were a little short on trainers, the other girl had to pick up EVERYTHING instead of just working with half the class. He goes again tonight.

Otherwise, we're packing up to move again, it's gonna be 'interesting' riding around in the toyota with 3 bored dogs. We leave on either Friday or Monday, I'm not sure what my parents plan on doing. We're leaving our house and our cats with my friend and her family, and her chihuahuas and labrador.. She says the chis are housebroken and that they will stay in their crates at night, but I HIGHLY doubt that (these people hate confining their dogs) and I know we'll probably come home to the house smelling more or less like a kennel, and slipping back on all our housebreaking attempts with Ripley
