Oh wow...so you're moving soon to Arizona? How long will you be there?
Is Sandy OK? I hope so. Thanks for your nice posts. Therapy was fine, but painful. I have some exercises I'm to do and hopefully in a couple of weeks, I'll get some motion back and then some strength. Well, I guess even from Arizona you'll have a computer, right? So you'll stay in touch hopefully. Let us know how it is down there. Well, it will be nice and warm compared to up north. Ooooo it's tempting me to hightail it out of here for winter. LOL. |

This is the third day of no rain, wind gusts or canes and it feels good to get back to a normal life. FL was hit real bad and many Floridians are still having a hard time many with no homes, power, food, water or ice. I have lived in FL the last 13 years and this worst I have had. The bad think the season is not till mid Nov and we may have some more. :shiver:

Poor hubby is past the sniffle-sneeze stage of his cold and onto the coughing-sore throat stage. I went back to work today so he had to fend for himself. He called me all night to tell me his temperature and to ask advise. I told him to sip cold water and ice cubes and take cough medecine but he wouldn't because he doesn't like the taste. When I got home from work the sink was full of dirty dishes. When I tried to load them in the dishwasher he asked if I could be a little quieter since he had a headache. Poor baby....I wonder if I catch his cold will he take care of me? LOL..how much you wanna bet he goes golfing with his buddies instead of making me lunch in bed. When I get sick I just want to be left alone. I am glad I have a great immune system and I never get sick..I haven't had a cold in 5 years! I'm glad someone else knows what I'm going thru...how exasporating...you'd think he was 3 years old!
Carrie, going to physical therapy sucks huh? I get bursitious(sp?) in my shoulder from time to time and I tried therapy for it. It hurts at first but after a while it gets better. Do pain meds work at all? For mine it actually feels better the more I move it. I can't lift much weight for a week or so but the exercises definetly help my range of motion. I don't really know what causes the flare ups but I think the moisture and cold make it happen more often. I hope your shoulder gets better soon. You will be back dancing on the bar, singing karoke, in no time! LOL At least you will be able to wash your hair easier...I hate trying to wash my hair with one hand! LOL Today, at work the passenger loads were crazy. Why are so many people flying out this weeK? It feels like holiday season. I am exhausted lifting so many bags and dealing with passengers. It feels like a full moon or something. I had a passenger scare me on the subway that runs between terminals. He stood right next to me and kept saying "Jack be nimble Jack be quick" over and over while staring at me. I didn't know what to do. I just smiled at him and got off the subway at the next stop to get away from him. People like this scare me in airports these days. I hope everyone has a great day tomorrow! Barrett |

Wow, Barrett. That would scare the daylights out of me too. I just don't understand why some people get off on scaring others, especially women. No doubt that guy knew exactly what he was doing to you.
Carrie - I'm glad you're feeling better. Keep those exercises up so you can get back out on the dance floor! LOL! So I accidently tested just how safe my new apartment was last night. I went out to dinner with a friend and got home pretty late. I guess I just totally lost my head when I unlocked the door and came in the apartment because this morning when I was trying to leave for work, I couldn't find my keys anywhere. I'm not a person that loses things either. I always know where everything is, so when I couldn't find the keys, I freaked because I knew they had to be hanging in the door still. Sure enough. The door was locked but the keys were hanging outside for all the world to walk in during the night. What a dummy. So now I'm going to have to be much more careful! My dad would make me move back home if he ever found out what I did!! LOL! |

OH MY GOODNESS! LOL I've done that before too. Where I live now, I don't even have to lock the door. But I guess I do at night. Thanks Kjm for your kind words. Gee wiz Barrett, you had bursitis? I had it once. It's the worst. I find that once you have something like that, you do get flare ups. I've had tendonitis in my wrists and shoulder and it pops up now and then, like you say. Yup, the exercises kill. He wanted me to devise a pulley system in my garage but admitted that I'd have a hard time screwing in the eye bolt in the rafter. You're right...the use of one hand makes it difficult to get your hair done among other things. I have so much to do to winterize this place and time's a fleeting. I really would like the use of both arms. I guess we get spoiled. LOL. Thanks for thinking of the poor old woman. LOL. I HATE being such a wimp! ![]() |

Barrett, you crack me up describing your hubby. I'm ROFL. Yeah...."Honey, would you like some------?" Then sliding down a major scale, "No-o-o-o-o-o-ooo, nothing will make me feel better. It's no use." Typical....they ask you for advise, your reply will be concise, and they'll listen very nicely, then go and do precisely what they want. They figure if they feel better, the doting will stop so they don't want to feel better. LOL.

The fog is back this morning...it's been foggy every day for two weeks straight. The weather channel promises me it will get up to 78 degrees every day but it barely gets up to 65 because of the darned fog. I don't want winter to come yet. I didn't even get a tan this summer! We are already going through de-ice training at work so we can be ready for snow and ice when the planes roll in. I have to admit I love de-icing the planes. I always call dibs on getting in the bucket, I love it, it's like getting in a cherry picker and I can make it go 30 feet in the air. Everyone else gets scared of being that high and offer to drive the truck for me. LOL They just don't know the meaning of FUN.
Fireworks, I didn't know certain smells can set off a migrane. I hope you can get rid of it soon. I could not imagine having a horrible headach for 3 days in a row. That must be terrible. I rarely get headaches, maybe one a year. The last time I got one was from caffine withdrawl...silly me tried to stop drinking 6 Mountain Dews a day. I fell off the wagon and am still chugging the wonderful green nectar of life. LOL Carrie, is tendonitis like bursitis? When my shoulder was killing me I couldn't move my arm 6 inches in any direction either. I would get a sharp pain inside the joint of my shoulder and I could hear grinding and popping. I have had it in both shoulders before but my left shoulder comes back a few times a year. What is tendonitis? KJM, LOL I have left my keys in the door before but I am one who loses things quite often. So I had to tear the whole house apart looking for them, get frusterated and go outside and look all over the car for them, get really frusterated and walk back into the house only to find them hanging from the door knob the whole time. I have to stay very organized in my house and always put things back in a certain place or I would lose everything. My brain runs much faster than normal life and I am always thinking of a million things at one time, usually having nothing to do with what I am doing at the time. LOL |

Well, a bursa is a padlike sac in the connecting tissue usually in the area of joints. It is lined with synovial membrane and has fluid which helps lessen the friction between tendons and bones or tendons and ligaments or whatever.....where friction occurs. Bursitis is when that becomes inflamed so the bony parts don't have any protection against rubbing. Sometimes a calcification will build and need to be removed. Sometimes cortisone injected is enough. It is terribly painful. I feel for you and you can only get just so much cortisone.
Tendonitis is inflamation of tendons which are fibrous connective tissue that attaches muscles to bones and other parts. There is fluid there too and when the tendons become inflamed and swollen there's no room for any cushioning on anything around there. The range of motion impaired. In my case my ROM (range of motion) is almost non existant. I have to get it back and then the strength will return. So I have to do exercises where by my other arm is working this bad one, like holding a wooden dowell with both hands diagonally in front of me and pushing up using the muscles of my good arm and forcing the other one up. I cannot lift it on it's own merrit...not at all, not even 6 inches away from my body. Frusterating. |

Unleash The Possibilities

Hi all. A quick drive by from me. I've been commissioned to do a custom piece of jewelry so I've been out in the studio drawing and noodling around today. Tomorrow I hope the weather is good enough to fly so I can make more money to spend on my dog!
Have a good one! |

Yuck, Tendonitis seems worse. I am lucky enough for my pain to go away after a few weeks of taking it easy and at least it's my left arm, the one I don't use very often. I can move it but it just hurts like hell.
Flyndog, What kind of jewlery do you make? I love Jewlery..LOL what girl doesn't? What kind of plane do you fly? Sorry I am being so nosey, I fly too. I usually only get to fly cessna 172's but occasionally I get to fly the 310. What a cool plane that is! It mkes me feel like a big pilot! LOL |

Carrie: From what I know, Sandy is OK.. I should call her before we leave.
Yep, I have a computer in Arizona, so I'll be keeping in touch. Right now I think it's about 90, a little too warm for me, but it should tone down to 80's by early November. Today was SO frustrating.. I got into a huge argument with my friend, and Ripley broke into her room and shredded her science project and peed on her bed. (HAHAHA, I know it's bad, but it was SO convenient at the time of the fight) So now I'm trying my best to keep the Ripper away from her, I'm so tired of hearing her complain about it. (Even though her science project was a document she printed out and could easily print out again, and we washed her bedding -which is actually OURS- she still whines about it) Ripley has been very hostile towards her recently, not sure why.. |
