Today was boring. What can I say, a Monday means school. But, at least part of school was fun. The Srs are now back from their trip, so we got to watch a video they had filmed. lol It was very interesting to say the least. lol

Well, just popping in to say good evening to everyone!

Been a busy week at work! We've got a lot of dogs since it is Father's Day weekend, and it's getting into summer time!

To top things off, I'm getting sick Slight head cold, but it still makes me want to just lay in bed all day.

I'm off tomorrow So I get to enjoy a nice day. But then I have to work Saturday and Sunday! *sigh* I'm glad I enjoy my job, or else this would be tough! lol

I just got back from school.

Mandi gets really excited when anyone comes home, so I have been working on making her sit and wait untill I release her. Well today, I wasn't even paying attention--and she followed me (very excitedly) into my sister's room, and when I was leaving and closing the door behind me--she didn't come. So I looked back and there she was sitting a wagging her tail waiting for me to tell her she could move!!! Isn't she so cute?? LOL When I told her to come she just came into the hallway and sat down again! She FINALLY gets it!! What a smart puppy! LOL (I am happy now )

Hey, I just noticed we haven't been posting in our "howdy" thread for awhile! I want to hear from you people! How's your day going?

I babysat until 2am Sat. and then had to get up and do Sunday school the next morning. Last night I wasn't tired until 2am again, and then had to get up early to take my sis to school. I'm barely alive over here! lol I think I could fall asleep anytime, anywhere, standing up, right about now. Hahaha! Still have to pick up sis from school and take care of Bella, though.

Missie's been doing really funny things lately so I'll share a quick story while I'm here, too. The other night I'd eaten a slice of pumpkin pie (mmm!), but had left the rim of the crust on my plate and set it on the table next to the couch (where I was sitting). Missie came and laid on the arm of the couch between me and the table, and was sleeping there for a bit. All the sudden, I see her gaze FIX on that pie crust, and she sits herself up a little bit. I started giggling and whispered to my sister, "wait for it" (knowing what Missie would do next). So, of course, Missie starts her little whine/growl/"give-me-that-now" sound, and I start laughing. So Missie continues doing it, even looking at my sister and "asking" her. Finally Missie realizes she's getting nowhere with us (probably thinks we're stupid!), and DIVES for that pie crust!! My sister and I just died laughing (around trying to get the pie crust away from her. LOL). She did the exact same routine again last night with popcorn, which is the second time she's asked, oh-so-nicely, for popcorn sitting on that table. lol Every time she just gets fed up with us and takes matters into her own paws too. Haha! She's so full of personality.

Howdy everyone!

Things have been so busy lately. I'm now working two jobs, so I don't have much time to do anything.

All of the pooches are doing well. Have some new pics of them, just need to find the time to upload them.

We have a foster in our home. A lady called me a while back about her, but never returned my call. Well she ended up calling me again and asked if I was able to do anything. The place she rehomed her in had another dog that ended up attacking her for everything. So I told her we could foster her and find her a home, if she helped pay for food and any vet expenses she may need. Well, now she may be temp in our home until the lady gets settled in NY. She said she is thinking about flying Maggie up there to her.

She's about 1 year old, lab/catahoula mix. She's pretty small... alot smaller than I thought she'd be. She's maybe only 30 pounds? She's a sweet girl, and pretty well behaved. She's never been around cats before, but she's been pretty good considering that part. However, I would never trust her around cats. Her and Tiki don't get along that great. She's not aggressive towards him, but she growls back and barks if he swats/hisses at her. I've kinda got her to where she will walk out of the room if she sees him in there.

Other than that, all is well! Hope everyone is having a good day!

Hey All,

Ailchu and I went to the park today (brr it sure was cold!) But Ailchu loved the snow, as soon as he saw the park he just broke into a run(his idea of a run being a slow trot!) and gave me his doggie grin, he was so excited. The rest of my day was pretty uneventful, I went to work and now I think I'll go to bed.

Scooby went to live with his owners today. Rugby will miss him I think, but I am not sure that I will. Phew...he sure wasn't the brightest crayon in the box. haha! I am sure he will be around some more for some playdates though.

My day has been interesting so far...I'm working a double shift in at work today, and since it is during the school year we normally aren't to busy. I went in thinking we'd have around ten to fifteen dogs to take care of....we have FORTY. Freaking forty dogs. And I'm pulling a double all by myself because everyone else is out of town. And to make matters even more fun, two of those forty dogs want to kill me on sight (a Dalmation and a McNab dog thing) and our rabies pole just broke. Joy joy. The McNab dog thing is just really fear aggressive and when I shoo him out of the kennel he is fine, but that Dalmation...you barely open the door and it will lunge at you trying to bite you, and when you let it out loose it tries to attack you as well. Not sure how I'm going to manage that one. I hate Dalmations. Or at least all of the ones that come in to work. I have yet to meet a sane one.

On the plus side, the four Beagle unaltered "pups" in at work are finally comprehending the "sit" command! One knows it down pat, the other is pretty good, one needs a few reminders, and the other is still hopeless. But they are getting there.

I can't believe I just did this....I finally got my shipment of bluegrass hay in today for the piggies. When I ordered it I noticed the price was a bit high and I thought, "Well, must be the up in shipping because of the gas prices, etc., etc." Although an extra $15 seemed a bit much for shipping.

I want to carry the box up the steps and DANG was it heavy! And I could barely fit around the clutter in our hallway to get it into my room. Once in my room I tried to put the box where I had stored the past hay. It wouldn't fit. I thought, "What the heck?"

Come to find out I ordered a 25lb box of hay...last time I only ordered a 9lb box!
That 9lb box lasted me at LEAST 3 months....so I just bought me almost a year's supply of hay. LOL Good grief. Hopefully it doesn't go bad or the ferrets don't get into it as I have to keep it on the floor because it won't fit on top of the pigs' cage!

Just wanted to say hello! I had not noticed that thread before. It is nice
Niki has an interesting couple days. She is been in a very weird for he high energy mood. This morning, I found her inside the bathtub playing with the drainer piece which she had dugged out with her big paws. Silly puppy. I want to see what other mischief she is going to think for this week.

Well it is almost 12:00pm. I hate mondays -- back to work and routine

I will try to talk to you all more often.
