OMG, how weird is this?

I just woke up from having a nap in a panic. I had a dream that my car was stolen...YIKES! Funny enough, the first thing I did was go outside to check if it was actually still here...LOL.
Anyway, I have a fascination with dreams, and think that everything you dream about means something, and that our dreams subconcioulsy connect to parts of reality and your everyday life.
Well, I came online and looked up what dreaming about having your car stolen meant. Sometimes different sites or books have different meanings, but I think that first one I went to was "spot on".
This is what it said:
To dream that you car has been stolen, indicates that you are being stripped of your identity. This may relate to losing your job, a failed relationship, or some situation which has played a significant role in your identity and who you are as a person.
That is too weird. Just yesterday a very close friend of mine and I "had it out", and we agreed that being friends with each other is just too exhausting. Anyway, our friendship has gotten each other though a lot of hard times, so as much as in the heat of the moment we both went a bit overboard, I obviously don't want to lose this friend. Me and this person also used to date at one time...LOL. It's so weird that this dream came so soon, and so vivid after what had happened not even 24 hours prior. It's rare that I even remember dreams anymore, so it took me a bit by surprise. I'm thinking maybe I should call my friend, bite the bullet, and appologize. Regardless of who was at fault over this doesn't matter, I just think this friend is someone I don't want to disappear from my life. (Even if he was a moron......HAHAHAHA).

Yikes... That's really weird.
I have actually never tried to look up my dreams. I dream alot too. I swear every night I have at least 2, and usually I can remember them. Maybe I sould look them up and see if they relate to my life too.
Did you call your friend and appologize? Hope you were able to work things out.

Strange question, but I have heard most people dream in black and white? I know I dream in color, but I was just wondering if anyone else does? It would be strange to dream in black and white though considering we see everyday things in color.

I've always dreamt in colour. That whole black and white thing is a myth I think...I mean we see in colour, why wouldn't we dream in it?

I use to be into dream interpretation in a big way and at the end of all that I decided I didn't believe a word of it.
We can find meaning in anything and everything if we're looking for it (and we want to find it), and the same thing can mean something completely different to everyone who looks at it.

Example...if my nephew dreamt of spiders (which is loves more than anything) it might be a good dream for him....but if I dreamt of them, it would be a nightmare. Same thing, different response. So for me to say that if you (anyone and everyone) dream of spiders it's a bad thing would be ridiculous.

To me, dreams are just your subconscious sorting out the junk. Sometimes they'll be linked to real life...of course, but in no way do I believe there is some hidden meaning. That's just me though.

Cass.

Wow, pretty weird, I guess that dream is worth saving the relationship for!

Dogsareme- I was going to ask that question too! One of My friends asked me the other day if I dream in color, or in black-and-white, and I was confused..."People dream in black-and-white??"
The other friends that were with me both said..."well, I might have had ONE dream in color!!"

And that (^^) is what I was thinking. Glad to know I am not the only freak that dreams in color!!!

I see your point Cass...LOL. It's all a matter of debate I guess. I don't think dreaming of one specific object has significant meaning, but when you link all the "major" things you can remember, usually that meaning is different.
Oh, and Cass, most symbols don't actually "mean" what you'd think...LOL. Like dreaming of a spider. Regardless of whether you actually like spiders, their representation isn't necessarily a bad thing. And depending on what happens in the dream with that spider has a different meaning that just seeing a spider.

Seeing a spider may refer to a powerful force protecting you against your self-destructive behavior.
To see a spider spinning a web in your dream, signifies that you will be rewarded for your hard work.
Spiders are also a symbol of creativity due to the intricate webs they spin.
On a negative note, spiders may indicate a feeling of being entangled or trapped in a sticky or clingy relationship.
To see a spider climbing up a wall in your dream, denotes that your desires will be soon be realized.
To dream that you are bitten by a spider, represents a conflict with your mother or some dominant female figure in your life.

I also dream in colour....I've had dreams when something colourful stood out specifically.
I am just really fascinated by dreams. Not that I live my life by them, but this particular instance, I think it gave me a wake up call. Whether or not it really did mean what I looked up, it may possibly be the saviour of a relationship with someone I truly care about. Sometimes we all need a push to do things, even if it's by our subconcious!

And yes, I did contact my friend. I did it by email though, and it took a lot of thinking out how and what I wanted to say. I didn't send it till late last night, so I'm still waiting to hear back.

lol. Glad I'm not the only wako to wonder that lol

Dreams are such strange things. Sometime I wonder if the brain just likes to make up stories to entertain ones self with. I know I have had some really lengthy dreams and there just big adventures of trying to save someone or find something. I could seriously write movies with some of my dreams... lol. Not that they would make much sense though.

Do most of you also have people in your dreams that you have never met? I seem to alot.
And do you have dreams were people seem to change? Like one minute the person your with is your brother, and the next minute it's you best friend, but in the dream you don't notice the change until you wake up.

Actually, most of the people in my dreams are people I know, or at least knew. A lot of times my old highschool teachers are in them...haha...not sure why. Others it's old schoolmates, friends and family. And for some reason whenever I have a dream with my dad in it, it always seems to involve a fried egg for some reason??? The first dream I ever remember with my dad in it, I was frying an egg, and when it was done, I put it "sunny side up" on his bald spot!! HAHAHAHA. I'm so weird.

When I was younger (about seven years old) I had a dream that a man broke into our house when my family and I were asleep. Anyway, a couple of months later, someone broke into our house! Luckily we weren't there at the time, though. ...That was just quite scary.

Yes, I know...I still don't believe it means anything.

Again...already was well aware of this and, again, don't believe any of the symbols mean anything.

And this is part of the reason I don't believe in all this interpretation stuff. These books and websites are each ONE person's point of view. Someone who doesn't know you or your life and therefore couldn't possibly even begin to guess at what the "symbols" in your dreams mean. It's all a load of rubbish...those books should be burned and the websites deleted.

Yup, we're all sorted out now...LOL. He came over yesterday for a visit and to talk things over, and the whole thing was actually a good thing for us. Sorted out a lot of issues that needed resolving. It seems a better understanding has been reached, and in turn, I feel a better level of friendship will come of it!! YAY!
