I went to a public hearing tonight because they were discussing a possible ban on pit bulls for the county. The next town over already has a ban on them, and a handful of people wanted to extend the ban to the entire county.. After I had listened to their side of the story, it was time for the public to speak.. so I nervously raised my hand and began talking... I must've talked to at least 10 minutes.. I gave them the the facts, most of which I learned from GP, and even had some help from a couple APBT owners who were there with their pitties. I finished the "speech" with "Ban the deed, not the breed," which I also stole from GP.. LOL.

Good news is that my words were just enough for them to change their minds about banning pit bulls... The even better news: ... They LIFTED the ban in the next town over! Yayyy! It's amazing the difference we can make if we speak out.. I'd just like to say Thank You GP... Without you, I probably would have never done this.

Well done for your excellent effort! I imagine it would have taken a lot of courage to stand up and speak infront of all those people, but if you're so passionate about a cause it does make it easier. Just think of all the APBT owners (and future owners) in the area who have you to thank for!
