I'm a bit nervous.

So, I just booked PJ for his shots. And I'm a little worried about it...LOL. I got him at 7 months, and havn't had to take him for shots before, so I'm a bit unsure about how he's going to react to this. He absolutely loves people (ANYONE..LOL), loves those car rides, but getting jabbed, I have no idea. I'm trying to prep myself, I don't want to have him catch on to me feeling uneasy about it. It's probably bugging me more than it will bother him. I doubt he'll even notice it, being so excited to get attention. I know, I know......I'm worried about nothing right? HAHAHA. Regardless, send me some of those good vibes and tell me he's gonna be a GOOD BOY!!!

It is normal for you to worry, saves PJ from having to do it.

He will be a wonderful patient I am sure. And if not, remember he is only a baby yet and will learn.

Aww! Good parents always worry!! I have never given Mandi her 1 year shot yet....soon though (within the next couple of weeks). When she was little, the vet tried to bribe her with treats (never worked)...when she was in the vet's office..she wasn't hungry anymore and she didn't like any type of treats! lol Sorry, if that doesn't helo your worrying, but I think he will be fine. Just think of all the other dogs that have to do it every year, and I haven't heard any horror stories yet, so I think you don't have anything to worry about! Good luck and tell us how he does!

It's absolutly normal
Believe me, I am always calling my vet after my dogs get something done. I am sooooooo worried.

After Kyrel got fixed he could not stand on his own two feet and was just shaking. So I called

I must of called for a million little things after Kaede surgery, I was a nervous wreak.

And then the other day when Mudd got spayed and was throwing up... they were closed But I did get through the next morning

Hopefully after the shots you dont' have the same urges to call lol

Being nervous is completely normal.. PJ will do just fine. Mazie was just 8 weeks when I took her in for her first shots.. I was in the room with her when she had em.. I got a piece of candy out of it, and Mazie got a cookie, which she ate while they poked her.. The first time they did it, she looked up and gave them that, "What the hell do you think you're doing?" look.. and went back to her cookie... Not even a yip. LOL

Mazie dog...YOU got a piece of candy!!!! That cracked me up! As for the original poster, bring something wit you like your puppies favorite toy, to distract from the needle and the vet. your puppy won't even notice.

Yeah! It was a jolly rancher, I think... LOL

When you bring them in to the examination room, they have this piece of paper that says "Human Treat" and has a piece of candy on it... and below it it says, "Doggie Treat" with a dog biscuit on it.
