Talking Daily Scavenger / Goal Hunt -- WEEK 1

Introducing Globalpaw's Daily Scavenger / Goal Hunt.

During your daily dog walk look for the following items, or achieve the goal listed for that day then get back to us and tell us all about your walk. Take pictures. You know we all love seeing pictures here at GP, but if no camera is available that's OK we just want to hear about your walk.

We all know how important it is to get out and exercise your dogs, so hopefully this will make walking your dog more enjoyable for yourself and your dog.

Saturday:
  • A person smiling,
  • a yellow rose,
  • a wild animal (squirrel, deer, rat, whatever)

Sunday:
  • Walk longer than the day before

Monday:
  • Birds nest,
  • blue bike,
  • airplane

Tuesday:
  • Balloon,
  • ant trail,
  • off-leash dog

Wednesday:
  • Walk longer than you did on Sunday

Thursday:
  • A sign with the letters "d" "o" "g"
  • a piece of discarded metal,
  • a plant with a bug

Friday:
  • Pick up a piece of trash,
  • tied up dog,
  • smile and wave at someone

doozy, i love this idea.....I kinda cheated though....I have to take my girls to the vet tommorow so i did my Sat walk tonight. I saw a lady sitting on her deck and she smiled and said hi, I also passed another lady walking who smiled and laughed at the contrast between my big rottie and my baby beagle.

I saw a deer, so the wild animal thing got covered...

but I couldn;t find a yellow rose....it's a bit early in northern michigan to find many roses, but darn it... I looked.

This is going to be fun, my dogs thank you!!!! We ended up walking almost an hour tonight looking for these items. Now we are all tired.

For some reason, I read the title of this thread as "Daily Scavenger/Goat Hunt"

You can imagine my confusion.

I nearly spat hot cocoa over my monitor when I read that, ewarp.

Ok...Saturday has been and gone for me already so I'm starting tomorrow morning (weather permitting...it's been raining buckets here at the moment). My goal is to walk further than usual and I might see if I can find some of the Saturday goals while I'm at it. The rose might be impossible (it's Autumn here) but I'm sure I can find the rest.

Such fun! I'm so excited to start.

Cass.

This has been so fun so far. Today we had to be creative to walk a little longer than before, so we walked from our house to this really cool hiking trail near a campground.

It was the first time Violet has walked this trail, and I haven't had Jamine there since there was snow on the ground. We had a great walk and then walked home. It took just over an hour and the dogs are so tired right now. It was really fun.

So tomorrow we have to find an airplane and a blue bike so I am going to take the dogs to work with me so I can walk them around town, because I will never see those things by my house.

They are really likeing this new game, it has really mixed up our walks and removed the "routine."

I found a smiling person and a yellow rose but i didn't find the wild animal (unless you count a bird). I can't wait to get a new camera so I can take pictures of everything. I am going to steal my brother's camera until I can buy one!

HAHA... well.. tomorrow's hunt will be a snap for me. I shouldn't have to leave the yard. Let's see... there's a bird nest in my tree in the front. My bike is blue and is also out front... and, with hubby being in the Air Force, airplanes are in no short supply here. Short trip for me Monday! LOL Okay... so that's cheating. I guess I can try walking until I see the bike and nest in someone elses yard!

Well, took the dogs to work today, but we couldn't find a birds nest. However we found a drunk man in the park....will that work? LOL

Also saw a ton of squirrels, which might be the reason we didn't see a birds nest, because the girls get sooooo excited when she see a squirrel I really have to focus, so it's hard to look in the trees.

Might try again later for the nest.

I couldn't find a birds nest or a blue bike but I saw an airplane. We went really far looking for the blue bike and I had to carry Harley all the way home while walking Bailey and Lucy on lead! LOL!! I don't know about the dogs but I am exhausted! I kept saying once more street...one more street...until I realized I had taken Harley too far.
