pop ups

whats with all the pop ups? i havent been here for more than a few minutes for probably a week... and now there are pop ups? (or am i completely stupid and this is only on my computer?)

i just took care of a virus a little while ago.. but i am completely computer illiterate... when my boyfriend comes home i will have him check it all over. so it is just my computer then huh?

sorry but yea I think so. Addware has become a HUGE problem recently and its a pain in the but. Kazaa (and other music sites) seems to be a huge problem with them...it downloads gator and other things that the computer thinks is a real program not adware.

well.. i got a virus or something because i was trying to get some nice halloween backgrounds and screen savers ( i guess) lol i will have to leave everything but posting and email up to my boyfriend from now on it looks. thanks for the help fireworks

we were told to download Spybot I cant find the website now for it but it seems to have gotten rid of our adware...we aklso got rid of Kazaa too...

http://www.adaware.com is a good place to get Spyware rememoval. That's what I use.

Gosh, I worked for a week trying to clean up a nasty payload of adware off my DH's computer. It came in with a virus, but the payload was a hijacker with spy and adware. It was all over, hidden in nooks and crannies of the registry and rewriting itself. GRRR. I had to get an anti adware program (they are free) and an upgrade to his virus software. And a warning to him to stay off of certain sites or clean up the mess himself next time!

There are not, nor will there ever be, pop-ups on this site.

You probably have adware...the programs mentioned above are good...I like Spybot: S&D the best.
