All the strays...

I use to live in a black people town. I would walk down there every day to make sure no one had dumped any puppies and check on all the stray. The strays were black dog-buttercup,boxer/pit mix-Mutt,basset hound mix-Big Boy, Lab-Duke, little tan mix-Molly. I ALWAYS would walk down the road and feed them. I loved Mutt and Molly expessially. I called them mine..even though they werent. Well one day I told my grand--mother about Molly. She was the smallest and had mange and hotspots. I had her about 3 years and one day she ran off(got out of our fence) and I guess died, since we never saw her again. I cried every night and prayed she would come home even though she never did. I would Bawl This was 1 of my worst loses. Then after that...Mutt..who was a male..smelt a female dog in heat and ran across the road to mate and there wasnt nothing I could do because it was a highway..(I was like 11) and then he was LAYING out in the highway and got hit. I was sooo sad. Ended up Buttercup and Big boy died to. And now recently, I went down there, they have AGGRESIVE pit bulls on chains..LOTS of strays and puppies. This one pit who no one wants got ate yp by one of those aggresive pits and he had his bone showing. The one that go tate up is so sweet. it amkes me soo mad. People breed them. There were also 2 Rotties that were VERY mean. I am so scared of them. If those pit ever got of those chains or if those Rotts ever got out of that fence they WOULD/COUKD kill someone. I have been chased by those HUGE Rottweilers. The STYUPID people have holes in their fence. I HATE people that have aggresive dogs and dont keep them up or take them to a professional. But those people dont care.

Hi there ive just read your thread and i think people who dont have suitable homes and dont care for animals or dogs shouldnt be allowed to have any animal.
Im very sorry for your loss but i think you should report the person or people who keeps unwanted NASTY dogs and take them to an animal shelter to be looked after proplerly or if they are really Nasty dogs then should be put to sleep, coz other wise they will get out and Kill someone like you said!!!

Yea. There isnt a animal shelter in that town. And the one where I live right now wont go pick up the dogs.

Why is that? i thought they would pick up the dogs!!! were do you live what country?Coz i live in England and theres not an animal shelter but there is a vet surgery and they helped me when i found a stray dog!!!try a vet surgery and they will take the dog to an adoption area!!!!

You might consider taking the puppies/strays and finding them new homes. You could take them in, do a little training, maybe spay/neuter, and put them in new homes.........kind of like your own "adoption" program.

yes, but that is expensive.. and you must remember that not everyone on here is an adult and has resources to do things like that. (dont mean to offend you southern girl... ) and besides, lol, im an adult and couldnt handle that many dogs, and the cost of them and everything like that. but it is a WONDERFUL idea.. i really like it.. and if it is possible southern girl, then i wish you all the luck in the world

Of course not. And it is extremely hard to take care of an animal. But, southern girl, you might actually pick them up and bring them to the shelter.........I'm sure they're cute, lol. They'll probably find good homes.

Thanks for the suggestions! I live in the US. I dont know but I ahve mentioned before our dog pound is a dump. It is just a old broken down pound that really dont care. There is one or 2 ladys that really care...Erin
