Warning About Pool Chemicals!

Sorry I have been away so long time to play catch up. We had a loss in our family in the last few weeks. Its been a bad few weeks. I just wanted to make everyone aware what happen so this doesn't happen to anyone else. A family member of mine (who also had a compromised breathing system- COPD) opened up a canister of her pool chemicals. The tablets you put in the water and when she opened it the powder from the can shot up and she breathed it in. She looked at the side of the can and it said fatal if inhaled. She ran inside had them call 911. By the time they came her lungs could get know air and closed up. After 14 minutes without oxygen she was on life support for 4 days and then passed. So for anyone with a pool becareful while handling any chemicals. Its a freak accident we know but horrible.
Wishing you all the best

Oh that is horrible, I'm so sorry for your loss.

And yes, those pool chemicals are horrible, I can't imagine loosing someone due to it, how heartbreaking. Thank you for the warning.

That is really sad! I'm so sorry to hear that your friend passed away. I feel that the pool chemical companies should do more to prevent an accident like this happening.. at least they should suggest better ways to handle the chemicals (such as wearing a mask). It's just very sad to hear that something like this happened.

I worry about those tablets since I remeber as a kid holding onto the floating the device they where put into when swimming in the pool and playing with the darn thing. Guess we never really know all the things around us that can cause us harm.
