*Update* I Get Ronan!!!

Due to personal reasons Ronan''s owner isn''t able to keep him anymore and since I work with Ronan so much and he''s actually the leader of my dogsled team, his owner has approached me asking if I''ll take him. Of course I said yes!!! I''m so excited!!!! We''re doing a trial during July to see how the boys live together in the kennel. They''ve lived in there together before with no problem but only for the span of a week. I''m sure they''ll be fine though. OC and Ronan are the best of friends! I can put ONE raw bone in the kennel with both dogs locked in and they will not fight! Instead they will happily share with eachother and take turns chewing on it. They'll also share the doghouse with eachother with no problems alothough I am going to get a second doghouse just in case one of the two feel like sleeping along the other doesn''t have anywhere to curl up. The only time I have ever heard one growl at the other is during play. The nice thing abut Ronan staying here is that if his owners ever want to spend the day with him they''re more than welcome to come on over and just pick him up and bring him back later. They''re actually welcome to both dogs if they are up to it. I''m leaving the owner''s name on Ronan''s papers too so that if they ever feel they can take him back, he''s theirs. Another thing I''m looking forward to is having another training project. Ronan has a very typical husky temperment so though he respects me as Alpha, if he doesn;t feel there''s a need to sit when I ask him to, he simply won''t LOL Gotta get more motivation going in that boy. Up until now all training I''ve done with him has related to sledding in some way. Anyway that''s enough of my excited bubblings here are a couple pics for anyone who doesn''t know Ronan.

Gald you are making it so wasy for them to visit him, I can't imagine how hard it would be to give up your dog. Good luck w/ the training.

That is just great! It looks like so much fun sledding but I am sure its super hard work training and all. They are some great looking dogs too. I love the fact that yolu are open to the owners and are willing to let them see and possible change their mind about the dog. Wish more people were like you. You do whats in the best interested of everyone

Long time no see! Nice to see some pictures of the boys again! Congrats that you get to take Ronan. It's nice to have someone who's understanding and allow the owners to come see their buddy or take him back if the time ever comes.

Thanks everyone! I really am psyched to get this dog! I love him sooo much. He''s helped me out in a lot of ways.

RIo&Nickysmommy, sledding really is a blast! I guess that pic doesn;t show it too well, it was taken right at the end of the training run so the dogs had slowed to a trot and I was relaxed enough to let go of the handle bar (really not a good idea but sometimes you just get a little too comfortable). This is normally what it looks like...

I couldn''t imagine completely taking Ronan away from them. I mean they have been so kind to entrust me with him to do sledding up until now and even go as far as to drive me to trails in order to get in a training run while my parents were at work, or taking us to the dog park.

Icey, great to see you too!!! How are you and the dogs doing?

The dogs are doin' pretty good. I don't know if you were around when I had announced Sarge's passing. We had to have him PTS.

But all 3 of the huskies are doing well! And we have a new addition to the family! Kelso, a 4 month old GSD mix.

Like I said, I need to come up there and you can help me teach the girls and Ike how to sled! Hehe

Yes you deffinately need to get you and your pups up here! Kelso too! I''m sure he could figure out the whole sledding thing too. Any news on if your boyfriend's team is gonna be playing up here?

He's fitting in just fine. I think he's going to learn to be a talker. He has "talked" to us on a couple of occassions. LOL Sssh, he thinks he's a sibe... don't tell him he's not

Hehe.. I'm sure he'd love to join! He would have to warm up to Oc and Ronan first. He's afraid of other dogs and I'm still trying to break him of this.

Hopefully he'll overcome this... he warms up after he's been with the "strange" dogs for a while.

His season ended and it turned out they aren't having a team this year. There weren't enough players. So he's in no hurry and he's just going to apply at some schools/junior teams. I say we plan for me to come up next year after I get out of school! I'll be able to save up for a plane ticket and all... I just don't know how easy it would be to get 4 dogs up there. LOL!

It''s ok if he never gets used to the boys. We can pu the boys in lead, the girls in team, and kelso and ike in wheel, or summat that keeps two familiar dogs between Kelso and the boys.

That''d be great if you could come up next year!! It''d be such a blast!!!! Hope your boyfriend is able to get into the school and team he applies for! Where are you hoping to go?
