what is wrong with people

Tonight I found out that 3 streets from where I am staying someone entered a persons property and beheaded their little chihuahua

I cannot imagine what type of person could do such a thing. This little dog was loved and owned by young children who found her

My Bella is certainly not even going out into the courtyard unless we are with her.
I am getting very homesick for the safety of my rural property. The more I find out how people abuse and torture animals the happier I am to be isolated and only involved with gp.

I feel such an impotent rage towards these acts, I only wish I could get revenge for these poor defensless animals.

What is wrong with society that these crimes arnt given the harsh punishment that they deserve. All decent people should be outraged that we have this type of peson living among us.
Sorry shall finish rant, I am so darn angry and cant do anything else but express it here

That's one of the most horrifying things I've heard.

How on earth could someone do that?!

The worst thing is that if that person was caught they probably wouldn't get much of a punishment for their crime.
Despite the fact that most people who abuse animals will also abuse people....making the whole thing a MAJOR problem.

That poor little Chi and those children. Wow, I can't even begin to imagine what those kids must be going through having found their beloved pet like that. I know I'd be a wreck.

Start fighting back..........get a petition going to make it a felony to hurt a companion animal. Too many sicko's getting by with murder.

You sound like me, Linnie.....I am quite content being out in the country, with no one around. Heck, I don't even lock my doors. I have my dogs, my husband (on occassion..lol) and GP....what more do I need?

You are so right - every single person should be enraged that an act like this happens! Hopefully such a person will discover who the reprehensible person is who did this atrocity and a just punishment will be forthcoming.

Cas what terrifies me is that what you say is right

they start off on animals and move onto humans.
I am really starting to think I should start a debate with the powers that be in the rspca and start stiring the pot to make sure people are punished severely.
The first person I would aim an arrow at would be Hugh Worth he is a waste of space as the head of the rspca.
You want to be in on it with me cas???

linnie - From the actual studies I have seen (none of which were very good) most criminals (not talking about the petty ones hear, this was people in for rape, murder, etc) vs people that had never been in prision, they did not find that animal abuse alone was an indicator of future crimes, but rather it was often one of many behaviors that together seemed to be a major warning sign for later criminal activity.

I know I will not be able to find this study again (although I might have my notes at home, will check in a couple weeks), but more comprehensive studies need to be done. The other major (/sad) problem is you would not believe what people do not consider animal abuse. This was one of the problems w/ the tests. Some of them explained what they meant to the people they were asking and some did not. The ones that did said they got many more incidents of abuse after explaining what "abuse" is.

I will say that one thing we did conclusively see was that kids that abuse animals almost always have other major underlying problems in their life that often lead them to take it out on those they can (animals, weaker kids, etc)

This is just to horrible, I can't even imagine what posessed that person to do that to a little dog. Every time I hear something like this it makes my blood boil.. I can't stand people like this, wait I mean I can't stand "THINGS" who do this to these poor animals. I say "THINGS" b/c who does things like this can't possiblty be human.
