I'm so proud of Sadie!! (And so ticked at my cousin!)

This was her first Fourth of July and so it was her first experience with fireworks, fire crackers, etc. She was sooooooooo good!!! We were walking down the street and fire crackers went of right by us and she didn't even flinch. And then during the fireworks show, she slept through it all! (Well, except for the grand finale, and then she just about jumped out of her skin, but I kept saying, "Oh, Sadie! Look! Isn't it so pretty!" in a happy voice and she calmed down.)

So I was very proud of her. She was well behaved around all of the dogs and people too. And with all of the noises and strange smells!

But on the other hand...I'm disturbed and saddended by my cousin right now. His name is Tim and he has a Lab pup the same age as Sadie...my God am I glad it is a Labrador and not a Rottie or something, or else it'd be attacking people left and right.
The poor dog...its name is Sebastion. It is six months old and not nuetered. So Sebastion and Sadie were playing (with me keeping an extreamly close eye on them because Sadie was a little skittish around him, plus she isn't spayed...she hasn't had her first heat yet, but still....) and Sebastion just jumped on her in play and Tim was like, "Is she throughbred?" *me: throughbred? She isn't a horse.* and I was like, "Well, ya." so Tim was like, "Well, we'll just let them be then, but if Sebastion tries to [mount] her, just beat the s*it out of him."
Needless to say, I put Sadie back on leash and went inside after that. And then when we were out walking, Tim came up to us and was petting Sadie and Sadie tried to jump on him. I got her off and had her sit and Tim was like, "I don't know how you're teaching her not to do that, but we just kneed Sebastion in the ribs really hard that he doesn't jump anymore." and after how I made some comment on how we didn't train her like that, he said, "Our neighbors have a PitBull that used to jump, but since it can't feel pain *me thinks ya right* we'd just punch it as hard as we could in the ribs and now it doesn't jump any more."
Later on he perceeded to tell my mom that Sebastion wasn't fully housetrained yet and that when he came home from work one day, Sebastion has pooped all over the floor and so, as Tim said, "I rubbed his nose in it and then beat the s*it out of him so he won't do it again."

I mean, my God, the poor dog! He isn't neutered so without training (which he has none) he'll most likely be marking up the place, and then they don't crate him at all. And man, if Tim beats the crap out of his dog just for pooping on the floor, I'd hate to see what he does to the poor dog if it jumps on his 7 month old daughter!"

un-nutered rottie, no training and abuse = agressive dog who may hurt someone really bad and be blamed for it.

Your cousin needs to be "fixed" in the head and his dog taken away from him.

would he beat his daughter if she has an accident on the floor when she's 2?

How old is Tim? He must of learned that behavior from somewhere...
Guess there's no way to teach him otherwise?

wow that is tough.....

I hope he is a kid or a teen and you can talk some sense in the parents to relearn how to treat a dog....

That is horrible!!!!

Nope, Tim is 23? maybe? Married and he has two kids: a seven month old named Lilly and a two year old named Paige. They are both as cute as a button. He is in the marines and is going to be going of to Iraq in August.
Both of his parents (my Uncle and Aunt) never trained their old Beagles that way (my Uncle used them to hunt with) but Tim is just....that way I guess. He was the one who wanted a Pit Bull when he was younger for all of the wrong reasons. He may not have never fought the dog, but if it attacked another dog or acted aggressive in any way (toward nonfamily members) he would have definitally encouraged it.
