Are you serious?!?! I don't know about you, but, imo, those shelter workers aren't the brightest people....The most common color of the Greyhound is undisputedly a brindle. Maybe they thought she was part bully because of her musculature?

Anyways, I think that vid should head itself into the media. I wish people everywhere would see that video. My friend's father is closed-minded and anti-pitbull because "they're naturally mean". Ironically, he owns a Chow Chow....now That is what I call hypocrisy...

Ah jeez don't get me started on "OMG IT HAS A BLACK TONGUE ITS A VICIOUS CHOW!!!" But Chows tend to be snappier than pits, from what I've seen. Chows are quite cat-like and patience with strangers isn't their thing.

The shelter workers aren't too dog-savvy, really, and supposedly they don't have to be. They are there to clean cages and fill out adoption forms, but I mean.. come ON.. people who work at an animal shelter should know dog breeds VERY well.

That greyhound looked nothing like a pit bull. Long, slender (muscular hind legs though.) with a small, narrow head and pointy muzzle.
Aha. Yeah. Obviously a pit bull.

Is the video graphic at all? Like anything the sensitive shouldn't see due to gore? Want to check before I view.

It has a few pictures of dogs after a fight. If you can make it through the first couple it gets way better. It shows beautiful pits with their families. The words that come up on the screen are what the little movie is all about. I am pretty sensative to gore and the pics didn't upset my tummy, they just made me want to cry. Try to make it thru, it is really good....get a tissue ready.

I personaly LOVE Chows. I've met some LOVELY Chow mixes. (I know of 3. Mo[Chow/Rottie], Buddy[Chow/Husky], and a dog that came up to our Church once. [He looked exactly like a lab only REALLY skinny and had a purple tounge.] He had a home because he had a colloar with tags on it although he was super skinny. I tried to get him to eat some cereal that we had in our car but he wouldn't... he seemed like a really disspirited dog.... you could tell he wanted some company but he was like, depressed or something, so he didn't ask for it....)
What really got my goat was when my freind's parents got rid of Mo just because some people told them since she was a Chow, she would turn on the kids. Some people..... Ugh. I told my mom that if anybody ever tells me that PitBulls are evil, killers, etc. I was going to have them watch that video. That will help them change their minds. I think almost everybody who is 'capable' to watch it should.
Just like a saw a program on TV one time and it was about puppies. They stressed the importance on reserching the breed and finding a good breeder. I think every potential puppy owner should watch that. It also stressed the importance of socializing and trianing your puppy. It was really good.

Here I was thinking that pit bulls have been made to fight each other as a more or less recent phenomena, when it was people WAAAAAY before your typical NYC or Detroit crackhead that made them fight each other!

Quote:
Pit bills were originally bred in Europe in the 1800s to bait bulls. When that practice was outlawed, handlers pitted the dogs -- with their muscular jaws and tenacious grip -- against each other.
This was taken from an article that I found on the net; here's the site:
Pit Bulls' Bad Rap

Yeh, way back when they were used agianst each other. But the one diff. about then and today was that the dogs were actually taken care of. (And it wasn't illegal.)

(Thanks Barret!)

I had to look away by the time the last picture of dogs after fights came up. It's so... wrong. So cruel. So WRONG. How can this be, that man has stooped to this level? How sick can we be? How low will we go? *shakes head*

Great find! I guess I didn't know that Labs and Cockers were a higher bite rate than Pits! Of course the Pit fear is wide spread...so whenever there is an attack it's on the news. I guess they don't want to put cute little Cockers on the news for biting someone!

I have a ACD..abnd I thought he was a pittie there for a while until I did some research which is what some people need to do. Speaking of pittie's here is a pic of mine!

Aww, what a cute dog!

That site made me cry. It was so sad....but really good. It's so horrible the kind of things people do to pits.

OK, this is going to sound really stupid, but what does ACD stand for again?

He is a cute dog! I wish I could download the movie thing onto our computer but I don't know how... Then I could show it to somebody without a whole bunch of hassle.
