*deep breathe* mmmm, the distinct smell of...

ANAL GLANDS!

Dante was obsessing with his bum, then I turn around and he is sniffing the floor, so I look and some anal gland fluid leaked out. I threw on some gloves and "went in". I ended up doing Chloe as well, since she has hers done every few months because they are "anatomically weird" as the vet put it, lol! So now, both dogs have nice clean anal sacs!

Ugh, it's a whole new level of smell when you do it in your home vs. in a vet office!

P...U...!

LOL!^

They rarely empty theirs on their own. Especially Chloe. I'm glad I know how to do it myself since Chloe's bum is anatomically weird.

Being a vet assistant/groomer/kennel worker in NC gave me some valuable knowledge!

And to top it off, ****TMI*** I found out Dante had to poop, so I took them out without them even asking! LMAO!

OK, that was probably gross to most of you!

LOL, I am pretty good about getting them right into the paper towel. Once at work though, I squirted a girl who was across the table from me. It was totally an accident. She didn't get mad or anything, we always had extra scrubs to change into. But it was so funny. LOL!

I do have to get more laytex gloves though.
