The Grudge

I love scary movies. Absolutely love them. And there hasn't been a scary movie made in the last several years that has been worth it's salt, IMO (althought The Ring got a couple of gasps out of me). So a couple of friends and I went to see The Grudge this past weekend, hoping that it would scary the living daylights out of us. Boy, did we get what we asked for. I sat through the Exorcist (all of them, the first being my all time fav), Psycho, The Shining, etc without ever covering my eyes or face. The Grudge, however, embarrassed me to death because I had my head in my shirt 3/4 of the move! It was soooooooo scary and creepy! Very very good. The entire theater was so terrified you could almost feel it.

And apparently, it's based on the Japanese version of the movie, which is supposed to put our version to shame with its scariness. I'm researching how I can get a copy of that version with subtitles to see for myself. :shiver:

Plus, there are about 3 or 4 new scary movies coming out in the next 6 months or so, including The Ring 2. I'm very excited about all this.

Has anyone else seen The Grudge? Want to?

Ooooooooo....scary. Yeah, I use to really be into them. I'm a little less into them now, but still like an occasional scare. LOL.

That Japanese version must be really something.

ya know... when I saw the previews for The Grudge, I wanted to see it.
After seeing the previews again... I drew the conclusion that it might be from the same people that redid The Ring for us.
I thought this becuase of the one preview they show where the ghostly chick is crawling down the steps with her hands first... she looks just like the little girl from the Ring.
Just a thought... can't wait to see it now!
I thought the exorcist movies were terrible (but then again, I saw it when I was 14-I'm 22 now. So the special effects werent very "special" by that time)

I love scary movies too. I almost went and saw the Grudge this past Sunday but saw Saving Christmas instead (very funny). The only thing is, I can’t stand Sarah Michelle Gellar .

I can't watch scarey movies. My imagination gets the best of me when I get home and try to go to sleep. I can't even watch scarey or bad things on t.v. at home. I have to get up and leave the room, my husband laughs. I guess I'm too sensative or something. I used to love the t.v. show 24, but I had to leave everytime someone got tortured. The funny thing is I can go outside and smoke and watch through the window and it is better. I guess because I can't hear the person screaming. If I watch something that scares me I have to put animal planet or disney on t.v. right before I go to bed so I can fall asleep and not have nightmares. LOL I am usually fine if my husband is home but he is gone 4-5 days a week and I hate being home alone after seeing that stuff on t.v. Bailey SAVE ME!!! LOL Yeah Right.

I'd like to see it. Not many movies can scare me anymore, though, for some reason.. I LOVE horror movies, but I usually end up going alone or with one of my guy friends, because none of my other friends like them.

Thumbs up

OHHHHHH I absolutely LOVE scary movies. LOL ! Loved them as a kid, still love them as an adult. Though I remember watching Poltergiest as a kid - that movie gave me issues LOL I was always waiting for a tree to come through my window. Sometime later this week I'll probably go see the Grudge. It looks Goooooooood.
