Well now, doesn't that story just melt your heart.

I have one of my own.

I was married before and my husband was killed in a snowmobile accident. Obviously, I was overwhelmed with grief. Not only by his death, but the feeling of not knowing what to do, what was going to happen to me and the direction my life was going to take.

My cat Cleo, who is not the most affectionate cat, and also not the smartest of the bunch, would not leave my side. Everynight she would get in bed ( never ever did prior) lay on Bills pillow and lick me and purr. She would often bring me piles of her food and lay them on the floor next to me. Her toys became gifts for me. She would talk to me daily. Slowly as the months passed and Cleo felt i was getting stronger she started letting me go on my own. Now strangely enough ( 6 years later), whenever something brings a memory forward, or I have a dream, you can be sure Cleo is right there by my side, talking me through it.

Oh Fancy, I am so sorry about your past husbands death, very sad. I think it is strange how animals do things for us at the most perfect time for needing them. About 11 years ago when my grandmother died and I was very close to her. I found a small pup on the side of the road 2 weeks to the day of her death and he helped me through my loss. He was the most calm, loving, and easily trained dog and he was only 5 weeks old when I found him. His behavior was so unusual for a young puppy and even as he grew I thought he was sick. I think he was so perfect because he was sent from above with love from my grandma. He is now 11 years old and still has alot of spunk but has since adopted my mother LOL! He has been the best dog we have ever owned and I hope he has a few more years left in him.
