Thanks for the concern.

Still no sign of them. During the past few weeks, they've been cleaning up, hauling junk away, including a car, a freezer full of rotten deer meat, a tent (that I tried to get, but they wouldn't let me take it.. Could easily fit 7 people and a few dogs. :P), and a few other wonderful trinkets they had left inside.

Last week, they've been reflooring the place, painting, replacing carpet (because the older boy didn't know where the toilet was...), I assume they're sanitizing everything.. The lawn still looks like a jungle and they're probably going to need a heavy-duty lawnmower and a metal detector to cut it.. Who knows what's in there. The other day, one of the workers came over and asked if we could jump start his car.. told us that the place has been rented, but refused to tell us who rented it.. I hope it's someone who likes animals.. Maybe it's someone with animals! I don't know.. Would like to meet them though

Words cannot express how I feel about the people who abandoned that place. The way they treated their animals was just horrible ... and I still think he had something to do with "Grasshopper's" disappearance. I wouldn't put it past him after seeing what he did to that dog during a bonfire one night. He had left a package of hot dogs on the ground and she found them.. He grabs her BY THE THROAT and throws her into the fire! To which I immediately jumped down his throat for it, but all of his "buddies" took his side and basically said that she's gotta learn.. LEARN WHAT?! For about a week, I took Grasshopper in and took care of her - she was finally getting to know what manners were and she even learned a couple tricks.. Then the neighbor came over and demanded "his" dog back.. He took her and went home and that was the last I saw of her. Poor girl.

Sorry I'm getting a bit worked up.. People like that just tick me off.. And to up and leave and only say "We'll be back in a week - watch the animals for us." and then be gone indefinitely? I'm sure glad the two GR's got a good home though..

Here's the last picture I took of Grasshopper, the day before she disappeared.

She was such a good dog, when you got down to her level.. It took her 15 minutes and 5 band-aided fingers to get her to stop snapping for food, which is something he tried for months to do... Does anyone else see anything wrong here? *sigh*

Once again, thanks for your concern..

Well I'm glad they are getting the place cleaned up.

So sorry to hear about Grasshopper. That just gives me the chills to think about what he did to "make her learn". You could only guess what he did after he got her back. He obviously would not be kind hearted enough to just find her another home (or set her loose, that would have been heaven compared to living with him). Its too bad GP couldn't ban together and we could have all gotten down his throat. I think he would have messed himself Hehehe

Did they ever find them and the kids? They have to be somewhere. Why would they abandon those animals.
