Signature collage

Hey everyone, look at what K9Hullio_Sam did!!! Her and my sister did my collage for me, as I hadn't a clue what to do with it. Isn't it cute??

I am SOO happy!!

Well, I just took the pictures, and Mufasas Mommy's sister did the collage.

I told her she has to make one for Mandi!!!

I think it is wonderful!!

Oh my GOSH!!! ( that's what I said out loud when I saw it ). That is so beautiful and bright! You guys are so talented on photo shop! I gotta get some books and learn how to do that. I just can't understand the layer thing. LOL!!!

What a great job they did on it! I read the title of your thread wrong and thought it said "signature college".. I thought that sounded pretty weird!

Don't waste your money on books, Barrett.

The layer thing is easy. Imagine you want to make a collage from pictures out of magazines. So you cut out all the images. You have this lovely big picture you want to use for a background then a whole bunch of smaller ones you want to use on top of that.
In photoshop, each image is one 'layer' and while they are 'layers' they can be moved around and manipulated seperately (like you can with the magazine pictures) but once you 'flatten' the 'layers' they're all stuck together (like if you glued all the magazine pictures together..you can no longer move them around).

Does that make sense?
Hey maybe the Art forum should have a photoshop tutorial? lol

That is great

The key to learning photoshop is just sitting down and playing with it until you know enough to do what you want. Then you can start branching out and reading the MANY free tutorials already out there.

cass - great explanations of layers... maybe you should write a book

Thanks for the comments guys!! I have been out of town (Flew to GA on Sunday AM, then DROVE back Monday) so I haven't done much of anything. I love the collage, so colorful!! And, my favorite color is blue, so it's even better!! Mufasa is such a happy dog, and he's so bright, I just love that!!

Sorry, I'm really tired and sunburnt, so I may not make much sense!!

We call my sister "Stumpy", as she is 5'0" and I'm 5'10". She's 12 years (almost to the day) older than me. Her hubby is 6'2", we call him Bean Pole or Jolly Green Giant. But she is very talented. She said she would do more for everyone, if they want. If anyone's interested, let me know (PM) and I will get you in touch with her!
