A tough stuffed animal needed

My dog LOVES stuffed animals, to the point where she chews them up and destroys them. The last few toys have not lasted her very long, unless we take it away from her. Though, I feel a little bad because she has alot of fun chasing it and trying to eat it and be 'vicious'

I was wondering if there is a brand of stuffed animals that would be tough enough so it wouldn't rip or tear extremely easy when she plays with it. We are in need of one, as nothing has lasted us very long yet.

There aren't many dog toys that can outlast a playful dog, especially when it comes to stuffed toys. Your best bets are ones that are very simply shaped without cute little details stitched on. We have a very simple fleece man that has lasted a while, but none of mine are vicious about de-fluffing.

You might want to think about buying used stuffed toys at salvation army... $.25 each often, and you can just throw them in the washer with some bleach before you hand them over.

appearantly you dog likes to tear them apart, with is a fun thing to do, why not give him a cooton cloth with treat wraped in it and lot s of knots? so you don't have to worry about the stuffing beeing ate and buying "expencive" stuffed animals....?!?!

My dogs love tearing them apart also. Baxter will stop and chew it "properly" if told but Rusty spreads the stuffing everywhere
I buy from the clearance bin at Petco, saving quite a bit of money. And the dogs don't care that the toy was leftover from the last holiday.

We buy our stuffed animals from Good Will. They're never any more than $1 and we can buy a bunch of them at once.

If you bring a stuffed toy into my house, you've got to hide it or else it will be torn to pieces with the stuffing all over the living room.

Yes, each time I go to Ventura, there are two really large thrift stores that I buy tons of towels & blankets for our shelter here and I also buy these clear bags stuffed full of about 50 stuffed toys for $1.99. I give them to the rescues and send my fosters home with some.
When I bought Libby her snuggle bunnie at the dog show this past week end, I saw some really, really tough toys that these lady's have made that look like they would be almost impossible to tear up. I will try and find out if they have a web site. Also this is a web site that has the same toy and claim they have the worlds tuffest soft dog toy.

i just buy mine cheap stuffed animals and let them destroy them. they're 50 cents apiece at the thrift shop. of course, i spend an awful lot of time cleaning up "stuffy carnage".

I have small dogs so I don't know if I can be any help to people with larger doggies but beanie babies hold up really well. Peaches still has her first stuffed animal, a beanie buddy bear. I did remove the eyes and sew them up. Ty has just come out with a line of doggie toys. I found them at the local Hallmark store.

Thanks everyone! I'm not worried about price or her even ripping them apart, but I just don't want to take a chance on her swallowing something from the toy when I can't watch her. I know dogs are smart enough not to, but there is that chance she may and no one will be home to help her.

Karrie - just make sure you take any molded plastic, and any other hard pieces off the stuff animals fist and you should be ok. Also make sure they are not filled with any sort of toxic filling.
